My New RDWC Journal

Hey Man...Happy New Year!

I just found pistols on all 4 plants in my RDWC tonight (only 2 were feminized seeds), so I’m stoked & flipping to flower this Sunday.

I love Rapid Rooters & have had great success with them. The Rockwool just didn’t work as well for me in hydroponics because they seem to water-log my plants or drown my seedlings.

I use the metal Scrog grids because they offer total control for horizontal plant growth & spreading out the canopy. It’s less forgiving & more work to tuck without snapping branches, but my grow set-up is fairly small & manageable. My tents are only 6 feet tall so I have to seriously manage plant height. I get the grids off Amazon & build the frame from PVC.
Scrog-Pro makes some pretty cool one’s with plastic grids for a decent price.

How’s your grow going?

Hows the ol stretch coming along?

The good news is, they’re growing like crazy so I’m putting in a 2nd Scrog net today.
Bad news is, I was wrong about the 2 plants up front...I’m almost sure now they’re freakin males & need to be put down.
I almost always start with feminized seeds, but this strain I just had to have was not available in a feminized version.
I have another grow tent with 4 plants in early flower as well, but they’re in an Ebb & Flow and much smaller.

My original plan was to transfer any females over to the RDWC if need be, but the plants in the E & F have a minor case of root rot that I have under control, but there’s no way I’m taking a chance of cross contaminating. Plus, I think most of those pluckers are male as well. I’ll never buy non-feminized seeds again!

How’s your grow going?

Im a bit nervous about that as well. My dry/cures have not been great so far. I have some new equipment this time around so im hoping this one goes better.

I was just looking at your Grow Journal...Bad ass set up! What are you a master plumber or just a grow savant? Lol.

On my last batch, during the dry cycle the buds got a bit soggy a few days post harvest. I was worried about mold, so I lowered the humidity & turned up the air circulation. The potency turned out fine, but the aroma was hindered some. I was bummed cuz I love me some stanky dank buds!

Thanks! Idk really. I have a natural green thumb I guess. Most of it is just attention to detail. I started playing with pvc and stuff in high school making potato guns to use as rocket launches at the airsoft field.

I had dry air issues. I couldnt keep it humid enough so ive ended up bagging and jarring too early. Its been great to smoke, but a lot of it hasnt smelled all that great and some that ended up with a bit of a hay smell.

It’s a wrap.
Finished drying and I’ve moved my dank nugs into mason jars. Maybe my best crop yet.
I think I’m starting to dial in the harvest process because this batch smells far better than anything I’ve grown before.
Thanks to all for your input and comments!
Time to start another crop...

Off topic but love the natural log timbers and your wood countertop.
Thanks brother! I’m in the mountains in Colorado so we went with cabin-like theme.
How’d your most recent grow go? You should be done right?

I kind of figured CO. Same here.
Pretty good! Thanks for asking.
I took down my tent for the summer as my garage is a multi-purpose space (lol) and I need to work on the house and cars. Its a PITA not being able to open the garage. I usually fire it back up in fall.
I have some seeds called "Washing Machine" I am excited to try. Exodus Cheese and Bubba Kush. My two favorites.
Nice Harvest BTW!
