my new grow tent

What size DR is that? I have a 150W (roughly 6.5'x4.5'x2.5') I keep the filter outside of the tent as space is limited with two Daystars a flood table and a reservoir. Just stick the duct in the top vent and lead it to the fan that is attached to the filter, or you could set the fan on the ceiling of the tent (outside) and duct to the filter. This is assuming your not cooling the lights with the fan/filter setup.

Alright these pictures should give you an idea. You can see I have air-cooled reflectors, but the air-cooling is also my odor control. I may have to use a second fan this summer but it works fine now. I keep the velcro mesh openings fully open to allow greater air flow. I had an ebb and flow system but my plants got to big and
were suffering from heat stress so I'll be hand watering for the last month.

I am just quoting from the PROs...

Do what you want, after all it is your grow... but if you research and talk to some experienced growers... you will see that I am right...

Plenty of people do the wrong thing everyday, thinking they are correct...

What happens when your temperature has reached the "cool point" and your exhaust needs to shut off??? do you also shut off the ventilation to your cool tube? what happens then to the plants that are so close to the light because of that ventilation???

Sounds like a nightmare to me....

keeping them together is inviting the possibility of temperature fluctuations beyond what you want...

I want a good stable environment for my grow, and keeping it separate is the easiest way to achieve that...

But then again, I see people driving with flat tires or out of gas all the time.. so...

go with what you know....

Best of luck to us all...

Isnt 2 600 watt hps too much light for a 2 ft. x 4 ft. area? I may be wrong but isnt ther such a thing as too much light?

The sun will provide up to 3000 watts per m^3, when rays strike normal to the earth's surface. I imagine there is a limit for light but I'm not at it(4.5'x2.5'). Also I would guess that before harm is done to plants watts/electricity would just be wasted, that the photon receptors would be unable to use the solar energy available. The first part is fact the second my best guess.
