My Never Ending Quest for the Best !

Hmm I need to fill up my flowering chamber, might stick 9 of the critical mass cuttings fresh from the cloner and maybe a few days to root out straight into flower. Perhaps some of my other seedlings would be more suitable. I know I need to get it full ASAP. It should have 3 times as many plants in it.

EDIT : Critical mass were only supposed to be on one side and there was supposed to be 9 of them. Because I didnt have plants to fill I though I may as well spread the love.... I mean light.

Anyone reckon some of my other strains might be better from seedlings to whap straight in flower than the hardly vegged critical mass ?

Guys my camera is out of batteries :-? , I will get some more ASAP (i bought some ones that dont really work and the thing eats batteries, I really need a better one).

I have some questions for you guys and I would really appreciate your input.

Ok so my tent only has 6 plants in it at the moment. I have a 17 critical mass cuttings that have just been put into one litre air pots (yesterday), a bunch of week or two old seedlings (the strains I previously cracked). How the hell do I fill my tent ? Seedlings ? Critical mass cuttings with almost no veg time ? Just wait ? I could really do with a crop soon after the current critical mass get cut down. I am very restricted on veg space but have a half empty flower space.

I gave my plants top booster 3 days ago, house and garden say to introduce it for 3-4 days and then flush and begin using shooting powder :hump: . When I last fed the runoff on two of my plants was almost 1 EC higher than the others  . I thought because its only 3-4 days they would be fine but signs of mild nute burn are insuing. Should I flush these two and leave the rest for another day ? or flush the lot (flushing those ones extra to bring them to the same EC) ? Treat them as individuals from now on measuring seperate strengths of nute ? Any input is appreciated ?

I kinda know what I have to do I just want you guys to help me confirm before I act. When I act it should come with a bumper update :)

Hi guys,

I would like any advice or experience growing the following !

I picked these babies up hoping to find myself some nice pheno's within and now mission find my mom's begins.

I have the following strains :-P (every bean so far has cracked):

Barneys Farm :leaf: Pineapple Chunk x 5 cracked and in 1 litre air pots
Barneys Farm :leaf: Violator Kush x 5 cracked and in 1 litre air pots
Ministry of Cannabis :leaf: Northern Lights x 5 Cracked in 1 litre air pots
Nirvana :leaf: AK-48 x 5 Cracked in 1 litre air pots
Dutch Passion :leaf: Strawberry Cough x 5 yet to be cracked
World of Seeds Diamond Line :leaf: High Tension x 7 yet to be cracked
Barneys Farm :leaf: Laughing Buddha x 5 yet to be cracked

I am hoping within these seeds to find between 2 and 7 mothers to see me through a large chunk of my future grows.

I also have an excellent Mr Nice Critical mass mother who has just produced 17 cuttings ( in an X-stream prop) and I already have 6 of these in flower at the moment.

I am currently smoking a load of bagseed :wall: I cropped recently its pretty damn tasty and sugar coated and I am very happy with it indeed !

I am growing in soil (mixture of biobizz all mix, Gold label special mix with additional perlite but I am also going to start using around 40 percent house and garden light mix for repotting plants going into flower (more control on the nutes front)).

I have a wide selection of nutrients I have built up but the most recent ones and the ones I am currently running are the full House and Garden soil AB range this consists of :o :

House and Garden Soil A/B
House and Garden Multienzyme
House and Garden Bud XL
House and Garden Top Booster
House and Garden Roots Excellurator
House and Garden Shooting Powder
House and Garden Drip Clean
House and Garden Magic Green
House and Garden Bacto Force (on order)

The other nutrients I have to fall back on are :
Biobizz Bio Grow
Biobizz Bio Bloom
Biobizz Bioheaven
Canna Rhizotonic
Vitalink Plant Start
Advanced Nutrients Overdrive
Advanced Nutrients Sensizym
Epsom Salts

Other bits and bats :

Essentials wetting agent
Gnat off
Plant Vitality +
Halo Alpha Beta Harpin Protein
Garden Lime
Clonex
Root Riots
Rockwool Cubes
Bluelab EC Truncheon
Essentials PH meter and Buffer 7
Canna Actrivator (trichaderma) - I am yet to try this
Plant Magic Granules (Micorrhizal fungi or however you spell it) - I am yet to try this

I have two seperate areas a very small box/cab for vegging with a 250 watt blue CFL and a budbox xxl with two air cooled supernova 600's all on a temperature controller.

The tent currently has 6 critical mass in 10 litre buckets (way to small at the moment) I am looking to switch these to 15 or 20 litre air pots and input on what size to use would be appreciated.

The vegging box currently contains the 20 seedlings, 17 Critical mass cuttings in the x-stream prop and my very sorry looking critical mass mother.

Pics incoming (I need a camera).

I hope you enjoy the start of my mission and I hope you will stick around for the ride.

How big is your flower tent? I didn't see that posted...

2.4 by 1.2 meters and 2 meters tall. its a budbox xxl I think its posted on page 5 or so there is an almost complete list of kit.

Hmm. I think I will 12.12 the cuttings but I dont want to flower any of the others encase one of them is the one mother to rule them all.

Hmmm. I have some thinking to do. I am in the process of making a flush solution for the two over ferted plants.

enough people will follow dont worry about that and keep the updates coming nice work..
I wish I could agree with your assesment Kevin. I take the time to meticulously document my grow with info and pictures.....and it gets ignored.....not sure why.....?? I guess the most frustrating thing is I'm a noob grower and am constantly looking for helpful info......

Personally I document my grow and do decent sized write ups when answering questions just to ensure that the information is here somewhere on the site and in detail.

Popularity and following comes with time. I have a few followers on this thread and I value them all as gold. Followers are important to me as they mention when they think something is wrong or when something is good and they like what I am doing.

The next guy who uses house and garden nutrients can see my exact feeding patterns the food I used and the results I gleaned. He can see that two of my plants nutrient burned probably due to getting more light than the others. It provides a wealth of information for people who want to follow in our footsteps.

I have been a member of this forum since 06 thats a long time. Only now do I start a thread that really gives back. More people should do it.

Keep at it. Keep learning and make it interesting. Thats how you create a following, people love to see the story of your ups, downs successes and failures.

At some point you will do something spectacular and if you dont have the groundwork down in your journal how will you re-create it and share it.

Just my stoned ramble.

PS I kept a journal gave up and now I just maintain this thread, works for me :)

in my experience of straight to 12/12 plants will still take 4 weeks or so to start flowering anyway. one upside is that that stay nice and short... but over all i think the time spent force flowering would be better spent veg'ing. I don't even like going straight to 12/12 from clone anymore as it encouraged dwarfism.

Lollypop'ing involve taking them down to one cola or just a top heavy plant ?

I never really saw the benefits of FIM over a straight top :S Maybe thats just me. I did a few side by sides and it looked to me like a different distribution of the same bud :P

I flushed through today with PH 6.8 water with drip clean (basically tap water with drip clean) EC .2. I spread 40 litres between the 6 critical mass to ensure I had fully flushed the top booster from the soil before I add the shooting powder in 2 days.

I managed the waterings so all my plants came to 1-1.2 EC by the time I had finished. A little on the mild side but they wont know what hit them when the shooting powder comes so it will give them a chance to drink up some water.

The seedlings and cuttings also got a watering of half strength drip clean and half strength roots excel. They are all doing nicely, looks like I got 100 percent on the cuttings although not all of them are showing new growth yet so I may lose one yet.

I rearranged the plants under the 2 600's I definately need a third light in here. The spread just isnt what I had hoped on the supernova's its good but spread over 1.2 square metres its not quite good enough at a foot from canopy and a third light would mean it would only have to cover 1.2 by .8 which I think it would easily cover. Another light is definately on my shopping list.

I think I am going to veg the critical mass for about a week or so, take the best 9 and put them into the 20 litre air pots with my usual mix of gold label special mix, bio bizz all mix and 20 percent perlite. They wont need feeding until its time for the top booster (beginning week 5) but hopefully they will produce enough to see me through until these seedlings become my mothers and test subjects :P

I don't really want to put any of the seedlings in until I can take clones from them as I want to preserve the genetics of every single one just encase one of them is spectacular.

We will see.

Starting the shooting powder in 2 days. I was gonna drop my EC down to 1 (possibly 1.2) for my base nutrients and add quarter strength shooting powder as on the feeding chart increasing to half strength the following week then full strength for the week before flush. I reckon I would rather drop my base extra and add the recommended amount of shooting powder. I guess this is the only way I will find out what this stuff can do.

Any tips on using shooting powder would be appreciated.

Hope you like the update, my camera is jewed but pics will follow soon enough.
