Yeah, I've always stayed a 'generation' or two behind, allowing myself to scoop up/horde those values. Done it this way for 30+ years. I don't play many games on the TV these days, truth told, and I never play on the computer(s). I've got a dozen or so PS2s and hundreds of games which I'm more than good with, but she insisted that it was time to upgrade a bit, heh.

Got a few of these for Christmas, been grabbing a couple every week or so since. That's the great thing about patience - high quality games that folks gladly paid $40-$60 each for a few years ago I'm scooping up for nothing. ;)
(Trying to only get quality/highly reviewed stuff.)

Cool beans, but please at least say you have it hooked up to a HD TV using the HDMI cable and not that red white and yellow analog cable.

Dunno about "HDs" and "HDIMs", man, but I did get the system with a flat TV (my first, I'm kind of a tube guy) and a bunch of cords.
Picture looks good and it sounds great, all I know. Also, this friggin PS3 does NOT run PS2 games, major bummer. (I had heard that the ones that DON'T run PS2 are the bigger/better ones?)

NO memory cards, either! Now what's gonna happen when I sell/trade this thing in a while, I've gotta tear the guts out to somehow access my saved stuff?

LOL..you ps3 already has a fair bit amount of memory space. Think PC Hard Drive. Same thing. It should tell you exact how much. Should be like 250gb or 500gb.
Trust that an HDMI cable will bring you a much better picture. NIGHT AND DAY. Keep your eye open for one.

agreed. i really only bought my ps4 for gta5 really lol. and like a dumbass i gave a friend the ps3. but ps4 graphics are pretty awesome for a console. that hdmi cable makes all the difference

Just insert your storage drive and follow the steps below.
  1. Go to Game -> Saved Data Utility. This is where all your saves are stored.
  2. Browse to the right savegame and press triangle ( ). And select Copy in the newly opened sidebar.
  3. You'll be prompted for the destination. ...
  4. Wait for the copying to finish, and you're done!

I have two PS3 only because I have a 16 son...well at the time I bought it he was more like 8-10. He has his and I have mine. We meet online for him to receive his ass beating on Madden or NBA2k. We used to play a lot of Call of Duty together as well.. I got our PS4 about two years ago. I still have not gotten gta5 on the ps4 but do have it on the ps3. That game is awesome. My kid taught me how to still a fucking jet. It seems the younger these kids are the better they are at gaming. Crazy.

yup there is nothing worse on gta5 then some little kid on a mic talking shit while he keeps wrecking the shit out of you lol. for ps4 its way better.. i had it on ps3 but the graphics are insane.. more people in multiplayer also. you can shoot in first person and drive in first person. its funny the game is this old now and im still finding new shit everytime i play it. cant say that about most games

Yeah that game is awesome. I really need to get it for the 4. Have not played it in awhile now, so I'm sure it would be like a fucking new game with the expansions. I'm going to put that on my to do list. My kids been playing this game called watchdogs2 which is kinds like GTA5 but not really. Only one gta5

i checked out watch dogs 2.. clicked a couple videos on it. almost seems too complicated for me lol. next game on my list is resident evil 7. the free demo on ps4 is pretty crazy
