hey im new here, this is my first post i thought i would show you all my grow cab i built not long ago. its all built out of shit i found in th garage apart from the locks and hinges i bought myself.took a few days to build, first i made a frame out of 2 by 2 inch peices of wood then lined all the sides with inch thick solid maple flooring, used some inch thick solid oak for the base of the cupboard and a kitchen bench for the top :-P thn i had 2 kitchen cupboard doors liein about so i cut them to fit and put them on , after that it was pretty much done, just sealed all the gaps up with silicone then bought weather strips and sealed all the edges of the doors so it is all totally lightproof, i then drilled a few big holes for th 4 pc fans and cut a big hole in the bottom of the cupboard so i could sink pots to the floor underneath, hung my light and put my fans up and just about finished... oh btw i forgot to say i got 2 big barrel lock things i put them inside a peice of 2 by 2inch wood and bolted them to the inside of the doors, the cupboard weighs about 70-80kg and has a tv ontop that weighs about 30kg LOL:-P so its pretty stable and secure ... also! i forgot the 2 exhaust fans at th back of th cupboard they are piped into my unused chimney that is directly behind the cupboard thats for odors.....

HERES SOME PICSS

thats a 125watt cfl, also have a 400watt hps for flowering, any comments welcome :leaf:

Have you run a heat test to see if your exhaust/intake is sufficient? Could be a good idea to get an idea of how hot it gets in there after 18 hours of light, so you know what you're going to be dealing with when your seeds do come.

Just a thought though. Looks great. What kind of seeds did you order? Who from? Good experience? Bad experience?

It really depends on how much you're looking to spend. If money is not a problem, Advanced Nutrients makes a great line of nutrients. But if money is tight, there is still a slew of different options for you. Check out HTGSupply for an idea of how much each company's line costs. Foxfarm is a go-to nutrient line for first timers. I myself am trying an organic line called Blue Mountain Organics, with a few supplements from Advanced Nutrients and Botanicare. Everyone has their own nutrient regime, and you'll just have to find out what works best for you.

In all of my ops there are fire detectors and fire extinguishers. I even carry one in my car. I have never had a fire but just thought I'd mention, yesterday two fireman were injured fighting a house fire that turned out to be a grow-op. I wouldn't want to be the person(s) responsible for that one. You can get white colored aluminum flashing and line your wooden growbox with that. The last one I did I used old sockets(to hold the metal away from the wood) and nails.
