my hermy

ok so I have two plants straight into 12/12 from seed both have shown sex...one is a female, the other took an extra week to show, and almost over night it was nothing but pistols all over the top cola...then balls all over the place like miniature sacks of bananas....booo! so I know the heShe will infect my other female....but my space will not be used again after this is harvested, and im sure we have all smoked seedy weed....so im not gonna chop the heShe down is what I finally came too. I have others in veg that will be mothers...this was just a test run for the light I bought. I have two question for anyone who has ever been in the postion I am in.

1. can I cut some of the new ball/pollen sack groths off? as they appear? maybe to cut down on pollination to my other female.

2. I didnt fim/top it so all the under shoots are still small except one that i lst'd a bit to get bigger......can i cut these smaller ones off? even though it is in flower...will that effect it in a bad way?

I figure I've smoked regs all my life along with dank...so it's not like I'm too good to clean out some seeds. That and I've put so much effort into it that I dont wanna chop it...if it had only showed male...ya no problem. but the fact I know I'm getting pot in the end makes it worth the BS.

ummmmm let me see u said u went into 12/12 right from seedling is this correct??
if it is that is way too soon to do this lighting schedual rule of thumb is always to hold of on 12/12 flowering methods untill the plant has showed signs of preflowering which usually takes at least 6 weeks from seedling stages...
so if i havent misunderstood you this could be the cause of your hermie plants, but if you got bud with pistils then you may as well see it through quality and quanity will be reduced. hit me back if i misunderstood you i can trouble shoot it better if i knew what was happenening.

Do you thbink that flowering too early cuases hermies????
I have not had that experience personally... I have had one hermie EVER.
It was from cutting off buds and stressing the plant...

I say let the plant finish....and don't fuck with it until then...

But, I am not the authority.. just a guy who grows DIGGITY DANK ASS BUDS!

i have grown with good results, seed straight into 12/12 ....a couple years ago i had 8 plants 5 turned fem. under 600 watt hps and grew wonderful buds....no hermies...I ve had friends do the same, that is where I had gotten the idea....smaller yeild, smaller plant....from 12/12 36days both plants are under 11"....but like I said it was more of testing conditions with the new 1000watt I have, heat , humidity , dialing the thermostat ect. but I have never delt with a hermie...this is a first. Im just wondering if I can cut pollen sacks to restrict pollination levels, without having an adverse effect on the plant.

yes standox right when the pop soil....12/12..... Ive even read about this method on RIU...someone called it the "dutch method"...but that was an incorrect statement and someone had corrected him on it.

you can remove pollen sacs and minimize the chances of polination but in my experience a hermie plant in a room with a female is a risk not worth taking although if you are unlucky enough to have all hermies then no harm no foul. So i would say yes to cutting of developing pollen sacs stress will occur but it will be minimal just take small cuts at a time. and like i said to have a better yeild and all around healthy plant w8 at least 5 weeks into vegitative growth before 12/12 some books sugest using 12/12 to force flower a plant you cannot determine its sex just as a way to sex it and it is useually done with a cutting from the plant so that you can still achieve proper bud sites and overall size from the main plant.
when i say cutting i mean cloning and then 12/12 the clone to see its sex.

i understand the whole waiting 5 weeks...I got 6 others 4 weeks into veg right now...those are my main concern...like I said these where more of an area test....but this area wont be used again after these two under 12/12 are finished anyways, as I will be moving....but +rep for letting me know that I CAN cut the sacks off. I feel as you stated " little cuts at a time"....Im trying to minimize as much stress as possible while controlling pollination.
