I've been reading a lot on meditation and mantras to open by chakras. I was wondering if anyone here has had any spiritual experiences with opening chakras.

You are sober now... when you smoke, you sort of gain a different consciousness("it opens your mind" what people say). For example, when your sober, you know your standing, you know your surrounding, and are aware of current news SUPPLIED, when your high, you gain that other conciousness kind of like an add-on to current consciousness but it is fairly new, and you start to question, but somehow not get the answer right away...

You gain this new "sight".... and then you question your existance, and then your awareness of what you think is actually going on in the world...

"opening your chakras" will give you a totally new consciousness... The way you think of life.. and the world, and who you are, what you are...where you stand, etc.....

Basically, what you feel now, what you call conscious, will change, and it will be a different form of thinking, very powerful... and you will realize a lot of shit you questioned instantly... Kinda like watching the sky turn red from blue, and knowing it will stay that way no forever..

A lot of nice things... most importantly realization of true peace/love For all things, and emotion,.

**kinda medicated right now, sorry for the long ass post**

As far as I know (which I'm not an expert as I'm just learning all of this on my own) you have to cleanse your whole body and pranic channels. Then you use mantras to focus your awareness on certain chakras. You have to open all of your chakras and have them balanced. Then you awaken your kundalini and raise it through each chakra...when you raise it to your crown chakra and are able to sustain it you have reached the other side (Salvation, Nirvana, Samadhi, etc.)

I recently have been meditating and focusing my awareness on my heart chakra. I have noticed a slight warmth accompanied with a sort of pain on my spine between my shoulder blades. I don't know if this is normal or if I have improper technique.

I have had Reiki which is a healing process that concentrates on the chakras I think.

i have been doing yoga and meditating for a while now and the easiest way to "open" your shakras would be to do some chanting (preferable with others). many different sounds resonate in different parts of your body.. it jus all depends on what your tryin to do ;)

Right, I recently read a book on kundalini yoga and it said that when you do a chakra specific chant it actually stimulates said chakra the chakras above and below said chakra and the chakras of the same gender as said chakra lol. I believe this is true because I am a big fan of Paramhansa Yogananda and he stresses opening the spiritual eye. I have been workin on it for a while and ever since I have noticed my throat, sexual, and heart chakras ...for lack of better term, vibrating. It's actually an awesome sensation...its subtle though.

you have to be very open and aware of the energy movement in your own body. yoga really helps you get more "in tune" with yourself, both physically and spiritually.

Could be either, or probably both :-P

Sitting is the position I assume you take could be flawed and maybe causing pain, discomfort should arise at times and fall away, however, it should never become painful unless you are sitting incorrectly. No matter how much you read or gifted you may be, proper sitting is difficult at best and painstakenly impossible w/o a qualified teacher, tho not impossible :-P

It sounds like you may have bad posture and holding unnaturally rigid which is causing the pain:o but the warmth you feel is good -:-P

Although I'm not able to give you 1 on 1 w/ technique, I can give you a method of awakening your third eye which will help facilitate things on your path

In a Dark room, place a lit candle approx. 3-4ft in front of you. This can be done while in any meditative posture, or while sitting in a chair near a table with the candle placed on it. Now stare at the flame for 2 min. While staring at the flame, you may notice the different parts of the flame as well as the various colors. ** U can blink when necessary** After a short while you will notice the flame takes on a solid appearance. Continue to concentrate on the flame for another 2mins (that makes a total of 4 in all). At the end of 4mins you will close your eyes and lightly cover them with the palms of your hands.......U will see the image of the flame in your mind's eye surrounded by a rich field of blackness. This Mystical image is a representation of the Primordial Seed :-P the universe before creation, and the sum total of all existing matter surrounded by the vast eternal darkness of the starless void just prior to the great expansion.

While your eyes are closed and covered, notice the various colors of the image -- yellow, greens, reds, purple etc..... Try to keep the image focused and centered in your vision. Should the image begin to rise, which it will, concentrate and will it back down. Should it blurr, or go out of focus, concentrate and will it back into focus. Continue on and you will notice that the colors of the image will change **Normal** Eventually the image will fade to the point where you think it is gone...Concentrate and try to will it back. Continue on until the image is gone and can no longer be retrieved.

This concentration technique will bring about a marked retraining of your lower mind. When practiced properly it will help facilitate good meditation :-P

Very Esoteric!!! It's sort of like my very own personal Bible, Kinda!!

Esoteric knowledge is that which is available only to a narrow circle of "enlightened", "initiated", or specially educated people.

Good Luck!!

Hey man thanks for the tips. Its been a while now and I believe that it may have been the fact that i was not sitting correctly. I don't have that pain anymore but i much more aware of my chakras. Particularly my third eye, my throat chakra, and my root chakra. At times I notice my sacral and stomach chakra opening but the most trouble I have had lately is really opening up my heart. I think I have been concentrating too much on my 3rd eye and it is unbalanced.

I have heard of that candle meditation except the one I heard you stare at a candle for a while then you hold the afterimage on the spot between the eyebrows (ajna chakra).

Anyways the other day I fell into a light sleep and I woke up while I was asleep if that makes any sense. I had the most incredible feeling I have ever felt in my life and it encompassed my entire body. However, it seemed to feel the strongest coming from my heart. I guess it freaked me out and I shook myself awake. So I have been doing heart chakra mantras every night. I was wondering if that was the bliss you feel when you encounter deep meditation or if it was something else.

Yes, trying to hard is a high hurdle that we continue to try and leap over, just let go, your intent is all the push you need, be diligent in your practice but don't make breathing a job harder than it is.....get it.....and yes the body falling away is blissfull, but that is only the beginning, I think your seed just cracked

Yeah bro, he only disclosed these teachings b/c he felt confident due to the highly sophistication of the art, that even those who tried to learn it could due no harm to himself or his students. He only speak of the basics that were once closely guarded secrets that are now considered to only be novice techniques, but that is all that is needed to start down the path. Here is a story he quoted on that topic.

Listen! one day, an eagle was soaring high in the sky when it suddenly felt something strike its chest. As it began to fall, it realized that it was dying. Glancing at its chest it noticed that it had been struck in the chest with an arrow. Then looking down the shaft of the arrow, it came to the shocking truth that the arrow was plumed with its very on feathers.......-

the story was to reflect the notion that we often ignorantly give those who would do us harm the very means with which to destroy us. Along with the aforementioned reasons for disclosure, he says this is his way of offering a very special gift, in which he hope that it will be accepted in the same respectful spirit with which he offers it. Also, that it not be used in abuse toward others through the misuse of what he has presented to them.
