My grow when rolled up in paper gets really wet

Is that a sign of not drying and curing it correctly? My first grow (I'm on my second grow now) I didn't think my buds were potent enough to use with a hit pipe. So... I rolled them up into a joint and smoked it. The rolling paper got really greasy and wet looking right off the bat when toking. Is this a sign that my buds weren't properly dried and cured? Could it be a sign that the weed was full of less potent THC oils and/or moisture? I'm hoping on my second grow not to have that happen when my weed is smoked in rolling paper. Has anyone rolled up a joint and had that happen with their grow?

yeah, and it can happen for good reasons, and bad reasons...it can just be so damn dank that its hard to keep lit, and will resonate a paper to sogginess before you're half way done.
or...you didn't dry it enough. drying should take at least 4 or 5 days. then just before the stems get to the point of snapping when you bend them, you want to put it in jars. the weed may feel pretty crunchy on the outside, but its still wet inside. filling the jar at least 3/4 full and sealing it lets that interior moisture "sweat" out, and equalizes the moisture content of the bud in the jar, so bigger and smaller buds are pretty close to the same RH. you pop the lid, even dump it out for an hour or two, the first day or two. when it starts to get a little drier, you can just pop the lid for an hour then reseal it, till the jar gets to 62% rh. then you can leave it sealed till you want something out of it.

if it's the first reason, deal with your first world problems, and quit bragging.
if it's the second reason, read this

Thanks for the primer on drying and curing weed. I Googled before posting. Bragging? More like seriously wondering. My grow didn't get me as high as store bought weed, I should have mentioned that.

Also this.. it seems I can have a beautiful grow without the punch of pro grown weed. Can anyone relate to that?

I' m seriously considering paying $75 for a lab near me that will test one sample for my grows THC content. With all the money spent on a small personal grow...it might be well worth that $75 to find out if I should just get out of the personal growing weed scene.

well, you've finished 2 grows. that's more than a lot of people accomplish.
you haven't given a lot of details. are you buying seeds from a good bank? getting seeds or cuttings from dispensaries? or friends?
good genetics are required for good weed, if you're trying to grow good weed from mediocre bag seeds, it won't happen.
what are the conditions like in your room. whats the average temp, lights on and off? whats the average RH? is it somewhere the floor is cold, like a basement? are your plants sitting on the cold floor? what kind of lights are you using, what lighting schedule?
what nutes do you use? how much? at what ph? in what kind of water?
i grow kickass weed thats almost always better than anything else around town. no reason you can't too, as long as you take care of the basics first

Please, no specifics. It's broken up and in the paper bag drying. A nice haul for one plant. The buds are fat and sweet, but will it get me rip roaringly stoned? I'm my own worst critic. If it doesn't get me ripped enough, I'll buy some shake, mix it with this crop's shake and make some honey oil and spread it on the cured buds. I didn't like my last grow even tho it looked pretty. I saved 1/4 of the buds and put the rest in a blender, then added 100% alcohol and made up some oil and spread it on the remaining 1/4 of the crop. Here's hoping this 50 day autoflower crop will stone me. I still have to dry and cure it. I'll probably sample it for stoneyness once it's dried. Run it up the flagpole, see if I'll salute it.

You can grow fire from bag and brick seed.

Good genetics only go so far.

I will agree its a crap shoot with unknown seeds but the smome will almost always be better than the bag weed it came from if grown with care.

What roger said is true though. In the case of a new grower you want every advantage you can have. Proper genetics is a good start. You have any pics?

A lot of things could be the culprit. First grow it could be you cut too early. Takes a while to develooe an eye for harvest. A good loop or pocket scope to check tricomes would help. Proper plant nutrition. Proper environment. A lot of things could cause loss in potency.

When you say its wet. Wet like water or is it resin?

Well, the buds now are a bit wet, yes. Just the smaller buds. This present grow was Bubblegum Kush Auto from Seedsman. No real issues throughout the grow, expect when I stupidly misted the leaves and the light burned the hell outta some leaves due to the magnifying effect.

I probably won't have my crop tested for THC content for $75 at a nearby lab, but I am damn tempted to do so. I'm just hoping its worthy enough to at least roll up into doobies. It may not be hit pipe worthy like store bought is, but it had better be worth doobies.

To reply to your reply about my previous crop about it soaking up the rolling paper, it was probably my bad, being impatient and not letting it go the full dry and cure cycle proper. It just didn't get me that stoned (my previous one plant crop). I envy you that your grow is store bought potent. I have no complaints about my yield (one plant in a stealth tent). Those buds are pretty dense, Heh...will they get me store bought stoned?''

BTW, I bought these 3 autoflower Bubblegum Kush from Seedsman (not cheap, $40.). Out of the 3, one refused to germinate, and another one had trouble discarding it's husk and turned into a hopeless shrimp that had to be discarded. The 3rd seed made it and did well, seemingly. I have to say that this autoflower was neat to watch. You could literally see significant growth the next day, not 3 days later (like my photoperiod plant) . I liked that a lot. 50 days from sprouting to harvest (not bad, not bad at all). 3/4 of the pistols were brown. I just harvested today. Will it get me stoned...I hope so. I will update even tho noone probably will follow this thread.

If you want potency you need to grow potent strains. Skip the autos and go with some photos. It sounds like your in a legal state? If so find some clones or proven seeds.

You need to store that weed for a month or two for the potency to show full potential.
Sugars are still being broken down.

Thanks. If my grow isn't stoney 17% THC, at least whatever it is will smoke better after a proper curing.

17% is nothing to scoff at. The fact that you get 30s now doesn't make that 17 nothing.
Heck, even the cheese I grow is high teens. I bet I couldn't move any of those strong weeds here, cause it is not cheese. :)

I'm almost scared to take a sample 10 miles away to a lab that will give complete specs of the sample you give them. $75,00

My grow is probably not as good as commercial grow.

Idk... Some commercial it's terrible, and the fuckers know it. ANC is right, there's a lot that goes into the high you get other than thc. Cannabiniods, terpens, play a huge role in the felt effect. Top it with a good cure to bring out it's potential. Your buds don't look too bad, there's worse at the dispensary just down the road from me. Like I said before, get your hands on some good genetics and you will probably grow out better weed than most around you.
