my grow room 100W florescent lights and a mini fan in a small closet space

Your light seems to be a somewhat high, people here recommend to put the light 1-3 inches away from the plant, otherwise it will stretch a lot.
Also having a reflective hood on a light is not a bad idea.

Move that light to about 3" from the plant or you will have a big stretch.
