...today she is making home-made chicken noodle soup. Yesterday, she did a chicken with the ass plugged with a frozen cheesecloth full of my last butter making remnants (I store it in a ziploc), and with the carcass, she threw in a few scoops of budder we just made yesterday to make soup.

Did the budder a bit different this time... highly potent (0.7 oz to 2 sticks (or for us Canadians, a 1/2 pound)), but instead of having direct heat like a pan or a crock-pot, decided to do a double-boiler with the butter mix in a mason jar with only a few drops of water. When it was done, the colour was fabulous, and there wasn't any water left over. She says even at minimal doses, it's very good. She knows... so, I made her this meme...

@ spek9,
Can you be a little more specific about how you make Budder?
do you Grind bud?
do you de carboxylate?
how long do you cook in double boiler?
what temp?
how do you strain?

you mean 1/2 lb of butter not bud right?

I am always looking to improve!

peace,
DZ

Isn't it true that you wouldn't need to decarboxylate your butter if the recipe you use it in sustains temps of at least 220f for at least 20 minutes? I might be wrong idk.

I'll document the few processes I've used after I'm home from work tonight y'all :) ...and yes, I meant 0.7 oz of primo bud to 1/2 pound of butter.

ps. next run, now that I think I've perfected the process (for myself), I'll create a 'howto' with pics.

double-boiler is a great method, thats how i make my budder/oils too. Science its true you can decarb AS your cooking as long as the temps stay around 240 for 20-30 minutes and not exceeding those temperatures

Spek, I bet that chicken noodle soup was delicious! And im betting it packed quite a punch about an hour after you ate it, am I right?

Im going to make some coconut oil when this blue lemon thai finishes out. My gf wants me to make suckers out of it. I have'nt made those yet so im wondering if I actually can using coconut oil. When you going to make your gummies? Those sound very good but dangerous (atleast for me) because I love gummies and I think i'd eat to many and end up sleeping for 15 hours straight lol

Still at work Hank, will be more clear when I get home, but I've ordered some silicone gummy trays from eBay this week, so we can make certain potency/certain strain 'pills', each with a different colour.

The only reason I like pre-Decarb is so I can run at batches at two different temps.
a batch at 175-185 degrees temp bud makes for a higher THC level, heat Converts THCN to THC
a batch at 225-235 degrees temp makes for a higher CBD level, same deal heat converts CBDN to CBD.
rise in temp causes release of Nitrgen molecule.

an 1/8 of each gives me 7 grams to cook with, I find I get couch lock and pain relief.

I like that idea, i might decarb a few different batches at different temps when I make my suckers or "jolly ranchers" which is the way im leaning at the moment. I usually decarb around 230-240 because i prefer higher CBD for pain and sleep aid. I don't really medicate during the daytime anymore. If I do I want a higher THC but not so strong, I seem to get a racing heart which often leads to anxiety attacks for me so i prefer a low THC dose if im going to medicate during the daytime.

I'll do a batch at 185 so I can test the difference. I think making the "jolly ranchers" will give me a perfect size "pill" at the strength im comfortable with.

Sad from teenager to only about 2-3 years ago I smoked non stop all day every day. But now I just get an anxiety type feeling from it

The soup was spectacular!!! This thread is completely full of informative win!

I'm sorry I haven't kept up, but I promise I'm still here. I just bought local butter today, so this week we'll hack up some bud and make more budder. My girl is down for doing a whole 'howto' for the way spek is keen on making it at this time.

Work and life has me very busy at the moment, but I'm going to review all of this, and my girl is even considering making a video/documentary/pic show of chop to butter, waste to waste-not.

I've learned after my first indoor grow that NOTHING goes to waste :)

Standby... (I might reach out via PM to a couple of posters on this thread before my next post).
