My first very expensive closet grow with Blueberry

Before I begin I must politely ask everyone to be gentle I fully understand how much Ive spent and what I could have accomplished with the same amount of money please dont be mean

Instead of making a closet or purchasing a tent or two I purchased a Closet "The g-kit 400 combi with 400W cooltube and chambers for motherplants and clones" to be precise (see pics)

Dimesion (hxwxd): 176 x 88 x 58 cm
Price: Euro 1.665 (now you know what I mean).

I had a little money to spend at the time so I went all out but I recommend you guys never spend this amount of money on such a little setup.

Anyway lets begin the journal.

10 x Blueberry seeds bought from Pukka seeds for approx £110.
With no knowledge of germinating I tried to germinate 2 seeds in kitchen towels which I placed in a zip bag which I placed in a heated propagator. 2 Days later 1 seed hatched:-o YAY.

I pre soaked my 1.5" rockwool in formulex (300 PPM) & PH at 5.1 & placed the seed about 1-2cm down in to the rockwool, now its in the propagator sitting in the darkall alone (Chamber No. 2 in below pic) in 25-27 C temp and 80-99 % rh.
How long will I have to wait until I see a shout through the rockwool & is everything that I done correct? (apart from the stupid spending ! :wall:)

I just thought Id let you know in the 2nd pic a envirolite is shown but in my cupboard I have something similar to "Sunmate 110W fluorescent light system"

Any advice, comments or otherwise...?

They offer 600W but they are single unpartitioned closets no room for clones or mother plants.

Dutch Passion Blueberry is among the best smokes Ive inhaled into my lungs :)

So Im confused, the setup is nice and it seems to contain most of the things you need but you said you spent a but load of money? Shrug the amount of money one persons see's as a lot, doesnt mean the same to another. Which is scary because Im about 5g's into grow equipment :(

Either way that setup should give you excellent results. Looks like you can maintain a proper environment in there.

P.S - Holy shit I just saw how much that thing is. Thats pretty insane.

I have now realized its more convenient to buy individual pieces of equipment to suit your needs as you can always adjust it or replace it later on in the grow if needed but in my case I have no choice but to use what Ive got... Silly me :dunce:

By the way Ill post pics when there's something worth taking a look at.

Quick question:

As soon as I see a shoot do I immediately switch on my light if so then at what cycles (would 18/6 be ok for a small shoot)?
Also at the moment my PH is 5.1 & PPM is at 300 at what point should I up the PH & PPM (Im using Growth technologys ionic nutes I also have hygrozyme which Ill be using but again Im not sure at what stage.

A little help please...

Its from the Pukka seedcompany google it they have many strains including one that dies when its done and comes back to life afterwards (yeah I know it sound crazy but that was in the description) though Ill stick to non mutant strans for now

you should veg for a bit longer after roots come out of the rockwool. i like 20/4 and about a month of veg will make sure you get a decent sized plant = decent yield. your ph could be a little higher even now but definitely between 5.5-6.5 from what i've been told is optimal

Took a look at the propagator and no shoot but the rockwool seemed a little dry so I watered it a little with Formulex (300PPM & 5.6PH).

A couple of drops of ph down dripped on my hand & irritated the hell out of my hand, it felt like a nasty deep rash, talk about nute burn that damn ph down is corrosive (Growth technology) from now on Im wearing rubber glove.

The humidity in the propagator is currently so high that my hygrometer cant measure it (over 100% rh) & the temp is 28 C.

Do I need to do anything different to allow the shoot to pop out the rockwool faster?
Also when the shoot is out should I switch the light on immediately or allow it to remain in the dark a little longer?

Silly questions I know but as youve guessed from my experiance with ph down I am the ultimate super noob on RIU.

well when i did it i had rockwool mad soaked the whole time but just found out that after the first week or so you don't want it to be all the wet cause it might cause root rot. but then again i got shoots from all 8 of my clones and they were super humid and soaked for the first 2 weeks, like i said

ph down you want at first but not too much, def don't want it lower than 5.5 i think. my dumb mistake was i had the clones in a dome like mini greenhouse effect but forgot to poke holes so air could circulate. they don't need to be big but clones need fresh air.

other than that don't know what to tell you, i'm not the most experienced at this i'm sure others have better advice...

Hey man don't let other people talk you down. If you're working with a quality strain like blueberry then you should be growing under optimal conditions and that shit ain't cheap. I've done do-it-yourself DWC tubs for my closet grow, my first grow ever as well, but for all the equipment I've spent between $4000 and $5000. If you're looking at it as an investment, I say spend away, you'll thank yourself later. At the same time, if you're intelligent and if you use the tools around you (message boards, books, others' experience) you can lessen the learning curve significantly and easily make your money back on the first grow. At least that's been my experience thusfar. Just keep asking questions and doing your homework. Google is your best friend.

Thanks if only this seed will show a shoot just one little tiny shoot I hope its not dead.

Which PPM & PH metre are you considering purchasing? I have digital pens but have a blue lab PPM/EC truncheon on the way (I think the Digital PPM metre is playing up) they're meant to be bulet proof.

Thanks for restoring a little confidence in me.
Ive been doing all sorts of research and I think I have a feel of how its done. Ive been reading Greg Greens "The Grow bible" back and forth its helpful as well as intriguing I highly recommend it to noobies like me
