My first plant near harvest.... a few questions with pics

Here are some pictures of my plant, an OG Kush lady. I bought it as a teen and put it outside on my roof in San Francisco. The environment was a little rough, cold and cloudy often, but the plant still produced some buds. My questions are:

1) When should I harvest? Right now about 3% to 5% of the trichomes are amber. I've heard that I should wait until about 20% are amber. However, I like a more cerebral high, and I've heard that harvesting earlier can give the high I like. Would it be too early to go ahead and cut her down now?

2) When I look through my magnifying glass, I can see that the buds are fairly dirty. Is there some way to clean them off? One of the buds rotted (I removed it), and I don't want any more to do so. So I'm hesitant to spray them. But I'm considering either spraying them down really heavy with water, or swishing them around in a bucket of water. Do you have any advice?

Yup that looks ready to me. Congrats OG Kush is one of my top 5 favorite smokes. I'm trimming up a plant today of OG hopefully gonna have 1-2 pounds on it.

^what he said. if you want a cerebral high youve got it. just please please please dont wash it.they look perfectly fine to me.if you wash it that just wasting thc.. i dont spray mine at all anymore. my plants are in the 10th week of harvest, the final stages like yours. im looking for more of an exteme stoned couch lock high so im letting my rippin a bit longer.i just water the soil and they are looking great. if its cloudy and colder outside i wouldnt spray them... just wet a few fan leaves and the soil. adding spraying the buds ontop of those conditions is just asking for bud rott...just dry them out make sure the humidity is like 50 to 70. and if i were you i would cure it. ive just dryed it out and smoked it....that good. and ive cured it, same strand, and it was way way better. it smelled better, and it tasted better. og is an awesome strain man and for a rooftop grow that looks pretty damn good to me haha

Great! Thanks for the advice, people. I'll go ahead and cut them down. I won't wash them.... just hang dry and then cure.

yes my friend..... so washing haha. i hope everthing turns out great. just make sure there isnt to much moisture going into the jars, you dont want mold and more bud rott.

If some buds are starting to rot now , cleaning them with water will almost deff result in more bud rot. If it was me I would wait another 7 days before chopping even for a cerebral high.
