thats not good to hear, did you have the blackstar 240 2012? or the previous version? My plant is doing well under it at the moment...

It looks like you had 2 240W Blackstars covering a 4x4 tent, is that right?
That would only be a total of 270W overall (each Blackstar only pulls about 135W) over a 16 square foot area.
That would probably be enough watts to veg with, but not enough to properly flower with.
2 500W Blackstars could properly flower that area, or buy 1 500W'er for one side and move both of your 240W'ers to the same side.
Good luck.

It was an experiement to find out how much $$ would need to be spent on LED lights currently to properly Flower 12 plants. The dollar amount was close to $4000 so we decided to move on and moved the LEDs into our Veg room. We will being doing our new experiement using Aquarium Bulbs in Badboy T5 fixtures and a custom PAR spectrum.

I'm just summarizing what I understand:

You had disappointing results (which you never shared with us in your thread... do you have any pics?) with 2 blackstar 240w LED panels placed too far a distance over 3 plants which suffered from spider mite infestation during the grow (not clear if you ended up flowering/yielding from all 3 plants?)...

How exactly did that experience lead you to compute that you would need $4000.00 of LED to grow 12 plants satisfactorily?

On another note:

I am very interested in your upcoming PAR T5 grow... Are you going to start a thread? I would like to follow it... Thanks!
