My first grow

Hey what's up everyone? This is my first grow, and I thought I'd share it. If anyone has any tips, pointers, etc., please feel free to contribute. The setup is far from ideal, it's on a stairway with emergency blankets hung on the walls. A buddy gave me a bag of seeds (various unknown strains) so I figured I'd give it a shot. I started the seeds in early December, then they lived in Solo cups for about a month before I placed them in 5-gallon pots, where they remain now. I'm using a 125w CFL. They were on an 18/6 light cycle with the full spectrum 6400K bulb, but last week I switched to a warm spectrum 2700K bulb and a 14/10 light cycle. They're in a mix of Happy Frog & Ocean Forest, and fed every other watering with Grow Big, and just started using Big Bloom this past watering. Thanks for looking, and again I welcome any and all input.

time to get some better light in there
Yeah the 1-125 watt isn't enough. I'm going to have to sacrifice 2 plants (maybe more) when they start showing signs of sex because there's just not enough light (and I don't have the money to buy another light right now) for all 6 of them. There's a lot about my setup that's not ideal, I'm just sort of playing around and experimenting with different fertilizers/pruning/trimming techniques pretty much just as a learning experience, trying to familiarize myself with the plants and how they behave. It's pretty much purely a learning experience, any treats I get out of the process are a bonus :) Any recommendations on lighting? I'm really liking the low power usage of the CFL, but I know I'd have much better results with an HID setup. (I also don't think I have enough ventilation right now to deal with the added heat of MH/HPS)

**UPDATE**

Well I ended up getting 2 pretty ladies out of the 6 plants I started with. Thought I'd post some pictures so you guys can see how they're coming along. (Sorry about the low quality of some of the images, my grow light & my camera don't play well together)
As you can see one is natural minus a little trimming, and the other I topped about 2 months ago (about a month into veg).

Since this is my first time, I'd appreciate any input you might have. Thanks for looking.
