My first grow

This is my first grow and I will be posting pictures and updates of how my plant is doing. Any advice helps because im a noob at this. First off, I'm growing a northern light auto fem that I ordered from Bonza seed bank and right now its about 1 week old from first sprouting. I am growing in a cardboard box that's actually not that small. I put tin foil in the whole box in the beggining but it got pretty hot even with a fan and OK ventilation so I took some of the foil down. I am using CFLs and right now my seedling is under a 23w 5000k cfl. I will add more cfls as it grows. Its growing steadily and I'm excited to see how my grow will turn out. Any advice can help. I will post pictures soon and will be updating every couple of days.

It's kind of an experiment so it's dirt from the ground outside, and the container is a 1 gallon of water container with the top cut off.

Just my opinion, but I would plan on re potting into a bigger container with a better medium. I always use Miracle Grow Moisture Control which I know a lot of people are negative on, but it's readily available, and I always get good results. And you will definitely want to have a plan for more light, as many as you manage.

hey man good luck with your grow.
just remember that most people plant their autos in their final pot to avoid any stress . you will have to transplant thou .. clear containers are NO-NO so when you do transplant get some decent soil with perlite mixed in or get perlite separately and mix it in yourself. your medium looks kind of muddy and replace the foil with mylar if you can. ( emergency blankets = dirt cheap )

Looks like straight sand so yea, just grab some regular cheap potting soil and a real pot. Also grab a 4-pack of bulbs, maybe some y-splitters, socket adaptors and extension cords or power strip and you'll be good for awhile.

Hey I noticed you said you were using a 5000k bulb. They will work your plant is proof but during veg you should use a 6500k and for flowering you should use 2700k. Good luck with your grow man.

I'd go with making the inside walls white vs. highly reflective foil or mylar. It dissipates the heat better, and is the best for light dispersion.

I didn't try to buy 5000k, I was looking for 6500k but 5000k was like 4 for $10. I have a power surge protector with like about 3 plugs that could fit lights in. I can get 6 lights on that if I use splitters and there's space on the sides for extra lights, I was kind of lazy when I started so I might try to buy some cheap miracle grow and a 3 gal pot for it. All your guys advice helps, thanks.

I ordered a 3-gal pot and some FF ocean forest from amazon so I can transplant. I'll post pics later. I also added another 26w light and ordered more lights.
