Ok Update today, Everything is running very smoothly plants are thriving and there is some new growth for sure. 5 are now confirmed females and 2 are I believe males, this leaves 4 unconfirmed... after almost a week of flowering. The two that are males- are named oddly enough after X wives- in other words I should have known they'd go bad on me... So here's Jan and Bert- only this time they have balls- I suppose i should be thankful they didn't when we married!

Any info on whether or not they are males- and those are balls i see would be greatly appreciated- I think I got some decent up close shots- go ahead a judge the photography as well... And I circled what I believe to be the male parts.

First one's bert- and if you remember he was the one with mutilated leaves- so i am almost relieved he is a male- bad genes for sure.

Second one is Jan-

Thanks everyone for stopping by and contributing

when i get a concensus, I will promptly take them out back and kill em! lol no males in my area- I dont need seeds- not looking to keep these genetics... But i am sure i have some time to form a concensus its not like there gonna pop open with pollen right now- but within a couple days they will be gone, especially if more ppl confirm they are females, and i will keep a close eye on jan to see if her estrogen kicks in lol!

I just looked in on them and saw a consistent growth of about 3.5 inches one or two had even more growth than that, and a few only had an inch or two of growth, but the avg was a strong 3 inches and more bushyness. I will get new pics when there are emerging developments in sex or flowering. So far the females still just have that 2 prong white hair flower- no foreseeable buds. but look very healthy.

They have been starved of water for a couple of days- I water them periodically, like the rain I figure. I mist very often since it is still early flowering. The misting will stop in about a week or two- but for now i want to encourage the greenery. Is it true that it is bad to mist them with the lights on because it will leave water burns? Because I tend to mist them when the lights are on- and see no problems at all. My lights may be too high to cause this- about 18 inches off the tallest plant- so 28- off the smallest. But I have no burns or yellowing. The leaves look happy.

Also is it bad to give them the very mild solution of nutes and molasses everytime you feed them (once every two/three days). My solution, I am aware is far from the pro's of this site. I use a grocery store mix that recomends a teaspoon per gallon for everyday watering in the garden. I use that- but at a half dose- and use 5 teaspoons of molasses for 2 gallons of water? I did this for the last week- and as I said my growth has been good and the leaves look great but I am about to mix another batch and wanted to confirm that it was a decent poor man's mixture.

I am very aware that I should be using specialized nutes, and i will be next grow- its in the works- but i just wanna learn from what i can before i tamper with nutes science.
Thanks for all the help... as i said pics are coming in about 4-5 days or sooner if magic happens!

there is another reason for not misting when lights are on if you use HID lighting if the cool mist lands on the bulb it can shatter it this is not as likely with CFL's.
i don't think you well get burn off your 400w at that distance from the bulb.

i have not used molasses so don't know,

but i would water with just water every now and again as it will stop build up of nutes in the soil, there will be places where there are no roots and a build up of nutes the fresh water will help dissipate these through the soil instead of accumulating.

this is the main reason i have never watered with nutes more than twice on the run
but with your nutes i might be wrong, but i would wait till you get a few more opinions on this.

nice to hear everything is going well

HAVE FUN

Yea, sorta looks male. Still real early though, there is hope. You going to wait a few days? You have 10 days after they fully turn into "pods" to get them out. You are still safe..

I got em out now, I've looking at em a lot lately and those 2 look dramatically different- and the little balls are showing up elsewhere on the 2 plants. At this point 7/8 confirmed females out 11th puts me at way over the anticipated 50% female ratio- so i have a little room to clear up in the grow room...

I have taken 2 out and still have 9 plants in, two unconfirmed and 7 confirmed females.

I know- I got seriously good numbers, is that as uncommon as it seems... 7 out of 11 with 2 more in the running?

BTW I am tearing those males up, and I am gonna look at the root balls from em' think I will take a pics so RIU can see it- might be interesting; 1 week flowering root balls in a nearly 5 gallon bucket... I know i know pots too big- i had no idea when i was starting- just went big to be safe... but lets see how it looks... try to have the pics in a bit...

gonna get to work slaying these dude plants!
