My first grow...Afghan Kush...Hempy Bucket...t5

Hey what's up. This is my first solid grow attempt. Ive attempted to grow bag seed before in crap soil under a cfl..eventually trashed the plants due to lack of growth.

The thought of growing never went away and ive been on here for almost a year observing. I just recently moved into my own place and have a nice size closet to grow in.

Ill be growing with the hempy method. I ordered three Afghan kush seeds which will hopefully provide a high yeild. I found a local hydroponics store...which happens to be in walking distance of my house...who knows if that will end up being a good thing or not..ha.

I stopped into to check out lights, ended up ordering a HO T5 2ft/8 bulb setup. Light should be in Tuesday and that will be the starting day. Ive got all my buckets drilled and filled. At first ill be running all 6500k bulbs as that's what it does with...later on ill switch out four bulbs with 3000k.

Tuesday ill be starting the sprouting and ill go from there. My buddy is helping me out, hes got all the nutes I need apparently but as it currently slips his mind, I wont know what they are until Tuesday.

Ill post a few pics of the fleet after I get it all cleaned out. Any questions or comments..feel free to ask.

Hey whats upppp. So today I received everything my buddy had...buckets ...perlite/vermiculite/nutes. I will go into further detail because I've got a few questions before I kick it off. YES I've searched queit a bit but cant seem to figure a few things out. My method is simple as far as germination. I will germ with the paper towel method inside a ziplock baggy on top of the fridge. After the seeds have sprouted...I will move them into my small grown cubes which are in one of those plastic domes. My question about this is...should I leave it in direct sunlight or immediately put underneath my t5 setup(WHICH WILL BE HERE IN TWO DAYS!!!)? And I should be watering it twice a day im assuming? and how much...until the little soil cube is saturated?

Im having a problem figuring out my watering solution. I was originally going to use tapwater...but couldnt find a cheap way to bring the ppms and ph back to adequite level...if anybody has insight on that pleasee let me know. That being said...I was thinking of buying a shit ton of those 1 gallon Distilled water jugs. My question about that is...is it worth it? will it have everything it needs for my plants and will the ppm be low enough so that when I add my nutes it wont get damaged?

I finally received my nutrients from my buddy which actually turned out to be better then expected. For vegging ive got the Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow and for flowering ive got the Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Bloom. I'm curious if this is all I will need for my grow...I heard something about cal-mag but i was confused and couldnt quiet figure that out...seeing as it ties into my water issue. I'm also figuring out how im going to properly nute and water my hempy bucket.

If i were to use 1 gallon jugs of distilled...would I just add the appropriate amount of pbpg into the one gallon container...mix...and use for a few days until the gallon is gone...and then repeat the process. My main concern is if I use the distilled water...will opening it....putting in the appropriate nutes per gallon have any long term effect if i dont use it all right away. Would i be able to water....put the cap back on the jug...then use again 2 or 3 days later(whichever I end up scheduling).

Ive also heard somethings about the PBP measurements being wrong. Im confused as to how much I would put into a gallon worth of water at the beggining as it first goes into hempy and how much i would end up increasing it to. Also is there anywhere to get either color changing solutions or the test strips for ppm like similar to ph testing products on the cheap and at a local store?

Im sorry for all the questions...i only have 3 afghan kush seeds and dont wanna mess it up! Im sure Im forgetting a few questions but for now this should be fine haha

Hey sorry for the double post. I realized that the The Pure Blend Pro BLOOM is the soil version, not the hydro veresion. I called up my buddy and he said he knew about it and that the guy at the hydro store said it wouldn't make a difference? Can anybody confirm this?

Ok. I started germinating my seeds yesterday afternoon. Took a look today and holy shit! the roots where all aready about an inch long. So I quickly put them in my little soil cubes. Finally got some pics of my closet....still have to mount fans...cover walls in mylar and still waiting on my t5 to come in. Some pics of before I cleaned the closet...afterwards...my hempy buckets and etc....nothing really special as of yet.

Seeds have starting popping out of the rapid rooter. 2 down...1 remaining...hopefully by tomorrow. This is amazing...3 plants germinated in less then 24 hours...and two out of three popped out of the soil not 24 hours later. Less then 48 hours and I got all that...i was expecting a week. Is this normal? Does afghan kush grow faster then most strains or did I just get lucky? Also my t5 wont be hear until next wednesday...Right now Ive got them about 2 or 3 feet under a single CFL in the rapid rooter humitidy dome...will this work until wednesday? Take a look!

Unfortunately....my 3 seeds decided to die overnight. Im not sure what caused it...but I woke up to find them all completely lifeless! Come to find out my ph was 9.5!!! I don't know how that happened...I have now ordered 5 northern lights and 5 master kush seeds from nirvana and will be creating a new journal once those seeds come in hopefully by the beginning of next week! Will still use the same setup! Keep an eye out for it!

i advise germinating bagseed while you wait for the pros, also mylar is cool but if you plan on doing any spraying, mylar sucks. use white pvc sheeting if available. just my two cents though.
