My first ever grow, stealth PC grow using LEDs

Hey everyone,

I'm 5 days into my first grow using a stealth PC grow box from mrgrowpro.net. Below is my setup.

PC grow box in dedicated hall closet.
3x - 15w LED light rails (45w total)
(Red(630nm): Blue(460nm) 2:1 ratio.
2 exhaust fans and 1 intake fan (seems like it has good airflow).
Temps: 75-81 degrees F.
Humidity: 40% with lights/fans running. 50-60% during dark hours.
Light cycle: 18/6.
Soil/nutes: BioBizz light mix, bio-grow, bio-bloom.
Pots: 1 gallon round, plastic.
Water: distilled
Strain: 2 northern lights autos

Things are looking good now. I had either a slight over watering or high humidity issue a day after the first plant broke the surface which caused the leaves to droop. All is well now. I will post some updated photos this evening!

Nice. It's a tidy set up. You'll have a fair bit of training to do to keep those plants under control in there but that's a going to be a great learning experience for you.

If those are auto plants they'd probably be better under 20/4 light/dark for the entire grow to get the best yields.

I was thinking of switching to a higher light schedule. I think I'll do that. About the LST, I wasn't necessarily planning to do that as it honestly intimidated me and I didn't want he first grow to get to complicated. I have the scrog net with this box. I'll read up on LST some more and see about doing that. At what week would you normally start doing LST? I have to start before flowering, right? Just don't know when it would be too soon. Thanks!

There are some great guides in the Advanced Marijuana Cultivation section of the forum. The ones with pics are really useful. The trick is to be pretty gentle but unafraid! :D Whatever method you go for you'll do totally fine!

Don't let lst scare you! It's awesome and way less stressfull to your plant then topping. All you do is bend you plant over when it's about 5-10" tall. Here are some pics. You can see how I tied a string around the base of the stalk, opposite where I want to pull the top down-that way the base is supported and when you tie it down it doesn't just pull out of your medium. It's totally worth it!!!! The first pic you can see all my strings tying everything down. The second pic is approximately how big I like the plants to be before I do it, and the last picture gives you a good idea of what it does-you can see how all the branches become tops. It's really easy and totally worth it. LST.jpgLST1.jpg LST2.jpg

I didn't realize your growing autos, so I'm not sure if LST has the same dramatic effect as it does with photoperiods. I can't imagine it wouldn't have the same impact though.

Thanks! About the 20/4 light cycle. Is that ok for veg too? I just set my timer to 20/4 this morning, but then got to thinking if that's too much for the babies.

I'll try and set aside some hours this week to read up on it some more. Thanks for the info!

So I was reading up on the string and screw LST method. I think that would work well with my pot and tight area. What so you guys think?

Are you not able to lower the light rails? Surely they should be right over ur plants since u shouldn't get heat issues with led's.

Yea, they have magnets attached to the back so I can move them around. I have one light bar that I moved down low on the non-removable side panel. That light is basically right next to the leaves shoots. The other two are places on the front and back of the box. It's really bright and the pictures don't necessarily do it justice. When they get bigger, adjusting the light to make sure all areas are getting enough could be a challenge. Still just uneasy about LST'ing.

You are gonna get all sorts of challenges with that little box! But it still looks WAY groovy and i want one, but about 5x bigger!
I'm hoping the scrog net, which also has magnets so it can be adjusted up and down will help manage it. From what I understand you just feed the flowers through the holes and it hold back the leaves so the flowers get more light. I'm sure I'll lose some yield production towards the bottom of the plant eventually. It seems less stressful for me to deal with, for my first grow at least. If I can get at least an ounce per plant, I'll be stoked. Lol

Yah that would be a nice result. Nice thing is you have minimal running costs with this setup so if you get some nice weed at the end it will have easy paid for itself :)

You have plenty of time to get clued about scrogging and LST. Stick at it, man in a few months you'll be the one handing out advice :)
