Good luck bruh. I went out and got a root spa cause I wanted or thought I wanted hydro so bad and it did great all thru veg bout turned deadly in flowering. Out of a 8 system setup 2 plants got root rot. 3 plants jus stood at a stand still for 3 weeks and the 3 that made it done very well but to me I could have got better results in promix .

Week 5

PH to 6
EC 1.1
New box for my little girls. Planning to upgrade the light.
The roots turned brownish after I added nutes, I think is the Roots nute because is the same color.
Anyone knows if that's a problem or is normal nute paint ?

Thanks

Imo you have to use some h2o2 your roots ain't healty

What is your water temp? And maybe a more powerful pump could help toi

The brown tint would be synonymous with most nutes. Most nutrient lineups will leave some sort of residue on the roots from products like Super Thrive, Bud Candy, Thrive Alive, etc etc. A lightish brown tint to your roots would be just basic wear and tear imo. Now if your roots feel slimy and not "crisp and crunchy" but rather soft and gooey....yes definitely check your water temps and everything to make sure you haven't missed anything then go from there. They look pretty decent to me especially under just 1 CFL, but they're gonna be BEGGING for more light soon I guarantee it. Plans to upgrade your light?

How to use it ? I don't know anything about h2o2 to roots.
The temp in water I don't know exactly I don't have a thermometer yet. But I put the airpump near open windows and its sucking cold air.
The air pump is set to maximum and it makes a lot of bubbles.

Thanks for reply.
The roots are not slimy I touch them and they feel crispy but I don't like the color. I let the window open and is winter outside so I assume the temp is cool. Air pump also sucking cold air from window.
Also some leaves are clawing.
What should I do to prevent some root rot or something ?
This is my first hydro setup so I need advises..

Thanks man I appreciate!

From my experiences the highest chance of getting full-blown root rot comes with high water temps. As long as you can keep your water temps around 60-70F you should be gold. I would not let it go over 70F though. I prefer to keep mine somewhere between 60-66F. Make sure that your rez is light-proofed as best you can. You want your root zone to be cold and dark like a cave. You said some of your leaves are "clawing"? Like curled down/up you mean?

I don't have a thermometer yet but I will get one as soon as possible. At my local grow shop they have electric thermometer one with 70 dollars....wtf...

Hey buddy. Sounds like you may have a slight Nitrogen toxicity issue which is causing the leaf curl. Try weening down your nutes a bit. Personally with DWC there shouldn't be ANY waste as far as nutrient uptake goes so until I get to at least 3 weeks of veg I only feed them half-strength nutes. Once/if they start showing signs of stress(which is determined by w/e strain you're growing) I can add more later. I honestly believe less is more in DWC. So I would try that first and wait a few days and see what happens. From the look of it they're starting to take off on you so it wont be much longer before they start sucking down the water levels in your buckets ;) As far as the thermometer goes, you can just get an aquarium thermos to drop into your reservoir. They're only like a couple $

Or buy a ph or ppm pen with thermometer they will be less.expensive , bud candy don't leave any residue by the way..

Clean your bucket at least 1time.per.week i always use a single unit as back up for.cleaning i put clean water with h2o2 to clean the roots while i wash the other bucket also with water/h202 im also making a new solution each weeks or when i topped.with solution at least the half of the.bucket size

Try ghe 3.part good.for starter and easy to use

You don't really need roots booster just keep your solution clean and your roots healty

Also a more.powerful pump is.needed if your water temps are too high

Clean the airstone too with h202 because they can be clogged by the residue or the slime

Ok I bought thermometer and the water temp is 66
I'm sure it was higher before...so this is maximum allowed for DWC ?
