My first cloning attempt.

I took clones from my mothers two days ago and they seem to be doing good. I did a lot of reserch on riu and got some help from the hippie at the grow store and thank all of you for your help. It has been almost 2 whole days (48 hrs) since i cut them and they all look perky, green and healthy. Assuming that i did the cloning process correctly, and the conditions are right, how long untill i am going to have a clue how to many are going to survive? When will i be out of the woods so to speak? Do i need to wait to see roots to know that they have a very good chance of living? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. :peace:

WTF. Nobody wants to help give some insight. I see the stupidist questions get answers. i dont think that this is an unanswerable question.

Update: The plants are looking good some of the fan leaves are drooping a little but the stems arent. They are all standing up straight. I did remove some of the fan leaves and cut a few so they arent so big. Should i remove more of the fan leaves that are drooping a little or just leave them? Is this normal or the ones that are starting to droop a little are they just going to continue drooping untill they die?

Hopefully i will get some answers this time.:joint:

you will see roots in 7 -10 days. Keep them in a humidity dome for 3-4 days, then take cover off and let them sit under a weak light and mist three times a day. Once you see roots are there you can transplant and put under a full strength light.

Yeah i got them in a dome. I am just starting day 3 since i cut them. They are in a dome with a heating pad underneath. I open the dome occasionally to get some fresh air in there, and mist them quite regularly. Another question, since there is high humidity and very low air flow (because they are in the dome), is there a higher chance for mildew, or other fungus, or spore diseases. What could i do to reduce the chance of mildew or other diseases. I have heard of no damp, but isnt that more for dampening off, or does it help control all fungus/spores/mildew.

I'd wait at least a week and then maybe do a gentle inspection for roots. If you don't seen any, leave them be for a few more days and check again. Better safe than sorry. I'd much rather have a few guaranteed females than have a few dead females. :D

Did you use rooting hormone by any chance?
