My drying buds smell like Lettuce

ok so i have my buds in a cardboard drying box they have been in there for 5 days now and the buds smell like Lettuce. i'm guessing this means the buds are still wet or the chlorophyll breaking down was going to destem them tommorrow but guess i will wait another week or so just hope they don't dry out too much

Did you put wire or string on the top to hang the buds in the box or are they laying in the box? Don't wait till their bone dry to start curing.

Yes I have the buds are laying across the string insted of hang on them because I have a three tear string line set up. So should I destem tomorrow then thanks for the reply

Well, with proper ventilation, they should be ready in a few days for mason jars and burping as necessary, this will also enhance the taste. I always put a humidity pack, it's called a Boveda Humidipak 8 gram Pak. This goes inside the lid and it not only controls humidity up, but also down. Everyone who jars to cure should use these ( many do ) no burping no drying, perfect all the time, worth th .99c

IMHO i think our noses get desensitized as we grow to the smell of the plant as it cures up in your jars, though, you'll start smelling that good smell again don't let your bud get too dry before you put it into the jars. good luck!

Yeah I had the same on my first grow but mine smelt like freshly mown grass, how dry are your buds?
