My crop is turning black!

I just harvested my first Northern Lights plant, the buds were looking great, the small leaves around the bud were completely covered glistening with trichomes and i just couldn't cut them off.. seeing as they were so small and insignificant i thought they would dry out and shrivle up to nothing...

The third day into drying and most of the leaves have turned black! like jet black.. the blackest black there is! i'm concerned that it might be mould :/ Seeing as I'm unexperienced, it's likely that i've fucked up somewhere..

This is basically all I have done since harvesting..
During the drying precedure I used a cardboard box with a piece of string fed through both sides & tied securely, the box has some fairly big holes for air access.. i hung all of my buds in there. I havn't had a fan directly jetting air at the box or anything. I don't have a thermometer so I don't know what the temperature of the room is.. I would say it stays an average room temperature, I would assume humidity is about average aswell.

Anyone got any suggestions?.. I'm really devistated if it is mould.. But I have seen some pictures of Northern Lights before with a fair dark tint to the buds.. but seeing the leaves turn dark black has scared me..

Sorry about no pics.. Camera is out of action at the moment. :( I will get pics up as soon as possible.
Thanks

Pics are ALWAYS helpful!! Grab a sugar leaf and tug it. If it just comes out of the bud with no resistance then you probably have mold.

Doesn't sound appetizing. Got a good magnifier? Take a good look for mold spores. Could range from fuzzy to hairy. Without seeing, hard to tell. How, color wise, did they look when cut? If they were dark green, a rapid dry can make them look extremely black. Pics pics. Look around the net for possible images you can link to, with something similar. Again, if you got a 30x or better magnifier, look and report back.

at 20% RH one should never have to worry about mold yes? no?
no your not gonna worry about no mold with 20% rh. not unless there is a serious mold problem in that room already. mold just cant survive in those conditions.

It doesn't smell like ammonia.. but it smells like proper old manky socks lol... when you break the bud open it release the terpenes and it has that lush cytrus'ey NL smell....

Judging from the pic I saw on the link I posted above, it really does look like the dark blackish leaves are apart of the genetics..

idk if u took clone or not but if you did and don't want the darkness of buds next round make sure to completely cut out nitrogen last half of flowering.

dont ever do that unless the plant cant use it. the plant always needs a balanced diet.

If they look like that pic , i dont see nothing but dark healthy green. good job!

I have a black mould problem... spoty, at first you can only see it under strong light. Trying neem oil on my sativia and indica although the indica is hardly effected. It is worse on the top of the plant which makes sense because that would be the hottest part of tje plant requiring the most fluid. Just curious if the neem oil is worth a shit..I usually steer away from the nature crap and go for the chemicals.

so are you trying to get rid of the mold prob with neem oil ? that can work.

if you have black mold then you need more circulation an fans and way less humidity, thats the only way to cure it. neem oil is great but ive never used it for mold.
