My Closet Set-Up

Hey guys. I'm kind of new to serious growing and I love all plants (especially pot). I am getting a few clones to start with. Probably 3 max. I'm shooting for 1-3 plants at harvest time. Here is my closet description:

-26W Compact fluorescent (2200 lumen)-(possibly two if need be)
-Peat Pots
-3 Larger pots
-Humidex
-Thermometer
-Store bought soil
-Noma light timer
-Oscillating fan

What do you all think of my situation? Compact Flourescents are my only option at the moment because I'd like to prevent fires and whatnot.

your gonna need more light than that, that will work for the first couple months maybe but not throughout your entire harvest

Well, if I include another light, that will equal 4400 lumen. Would that be enough to grow one nice plant? I'm just learning, so I don't need a giant yield this time. With time I plan to get more equipment.

How did that work out for you? These bulbs have a lumen output of 2200, and I have two. Will 4400 lumen do for one plant?

Your going to need 4 to 5 of those lights, I'd place one on top and the rest around the sides.

just get a 250w or 400w hps...cheap and they stay cooler than mh and your yield will be much better.

I think I will get an HPS bulb. They are cheap, and better. Sounds good!

Thanks man. I appreciate how much time and loss you saved me. Wish me luck. I'm germinating ONE high quality seed from BC. I'm getting some clones in a bit, so I'm just trying the seed to see how vegitation will go. If it's female, she'll be turned into bud with the clones. She's in a bottle of water now (been for 2 days), roots sprouting out of the ass. The only thing is, I opened the lid, and now the seed has sunk to the bottom. Is that okay? My brother asked me if it was floating when I first did it, and it was, which he told me was good - now it isn't...will that affect the process?

i dont think so homie i dunno tho ive always used wet paper towels it seems to work fast with good success.

i would've poured the water into a coffee cup and placed the seed in there..and u said roots outta da ass? man, hopefully u dont damage it trying to get it outta the bottle...if so then so much for that hq seed

tons of people germinate in a glass of water, ive done it in a paper towel and in a glass of water, i just germinated 5 seeds in a glass of water a couple weeks ago, my plants are so healthy minus 1 plant havin a bit of yellow in the leaf, but i dont think its the ph level i think the soil was a bit dry, but the rest are lookin really good have tons of leaves allready
