My Black Jack Grow

So this is my Black Jack Grow. Let me get you up to date on what I'm running.


Soil = Bio Bizz All-Mix
Light= 400 watt Lumatek Digital Ballast 120v
Sunleaves Aurora reflector
MH Lamp for veg.
HPS for Flower
Digital Thermometer
And a 12" Fan

Nutes= FOX FARM Trio , Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom in one complete package. A must have!

I also lined my room with White Poly to reflect light back to plants and reduce algae growth on walls. I am good to go!
For a small closet like this one I don't think i can do better! STOKED!

So, Just an update on my grow... Got my seeds from Attitude Seed Bank ... awesome , Highly recommend them, came in 7 days! Also germinated them that night all popped in 24 hours! 4 days later, all have sprouted, and look good. I have started my grow with 2-120 watt CFL Bulbs... just until they can handle the 400 MH... I don't wanta burn them up. I am going to start the 400 wt MH about 2 feet away at first till they grow up a little. I want tight nodes with no stretching stems. I water them every other day. The CFL bulbs are about 1-2 inches off the plants. They are looking good!

This is day 7 after sprout. Looking good. Any thoughts? I have been watering them about every 3 days. 400 wt HP on 24/0 around 24" away from the plants. Temp stays around 78 -80 with fans blowing on them 27/7. I keep the closet door cracked open for good air flow. One more week and I am going to start feeding them Fox-Farms Grow Big at 1/4th strength!

So here is an update on my Black Jack Grow. On day 8 I back filled my soil and gave them a good watering. The next day in the morning they were obviously bigger! Seems to me since I started them in smaller pots , they seem to dry out faster. With the 400 wt. MH blasting on them 24/0 and the fan blowing 24/7 the temp. stays right between 78-84 Perfect. So I have been giving them about 200ml of water every 36 hours or so. The roots are starting to pop through the drain holes in the pots so I will be transplanting them into 3 gallon pots this weekend! I use organic BioBizz All Mix. Drains well and has lots of good stuff in it. I am going to start my FoxFarm Trio as well. 1/4th the recommended dose of course. The chart says to start out with the Big Bloom. So that what I will give them. My goal is to veg them till Oct 31. with 400 wt MH Light on 24/0 cycle. November 1 I will switch the bulb to a HPS and all the fun stuff begins with 12/12! So far today is Day 10. The plants look great! The first leaves have grown up past the cotyledons nice and green and the second node is looking nice and tight. No stretching so far! Hoping to get some nice bushy ladies. So thats my day 10 update.

So This weekend I transplanted the 4 girls into larger pots and gave them their first dose of FF Grow Big at 1/4th strength. I use distilled water on all of them. They seem to be growing good. The new 3 fingered leaves are starting to come up. They have lightened up a little in their color, lime green. Not sure why? There should be plenty of nitrogen in the soil on top of the fresh BioBizz AllMix I just put them in. Its not the light either... 400w MH should be good. The Temp is steady at about 77-81 with the fan blowing 24/7. Now that they are in fresh soil i hope they really take off!

So, Day 15... I'm very happy with the growth rate and the overall grow so far! I watered them Tuesday with 1/2 strength FF Grow Big mixed with distilled water. They love it! The green darkened up and 2 of them are really growing fast! Temps are perfect at 78 pretty much all the time. So I'm excited! The show is on! Everyday I get home and (BAM) a new set of leaves... Looking Great! Check them out, They love the Fox Farm, Grow Big. Really lush green! The stems are changing from purple to green as well. They look great! A new set of leaves every 2 days! There are leaves forming at the base of each node! These are going to be really bushy! I am so happy!

Day 24, Just gave them a heavy dose of Fox Farm Grow Big today. I have been easing them into more and more. The seem to love it. I water with distilled water mixed with Grow Big around every 5 days. I spray the leaves, (top & Bottom) every morning with a light mist of nutes/water. They are a great green color! Leaves are popping up everywhere! New leaves off of leaves, its awesome! The stems have changed from purple to green. Temps are perfect! circulation is perfect! Now its just a waiting game, Cant wait to start flowering! I think I will veg for 50 or 60 days. I'll keep ya posted!

Today is day 29. All is good. About halfway done with my veg. Tonight I am giving them a heavy watering. Gotta pick up some distilled water. I use about 1/2 gallon per plant every 4-5 days mixed with FoxFarm Grow Big. Over the past 20 days I have slowly eased them into more and more, careful not to burn and stress them. I spray them with a mist with light nutes every morning. They seem to really be green and growing at a steady pace. Ill update again sometime this weekend!

So I just Pruned up the lower leaves that will cause the small pop-corn buds. Dont wanta waste the energy on that little stuff! Also topped all four. So bring on the colas! The more the higher! These ladys are so healthy. Im not kidding, they smell so good too! so green. I would recommend Black Jack to anyone. I am very happy with this grow so far. I have never topped a plant before so this will be something new for me. But from what I have read can double yeilds. I am all about that! Im interested to see how they grow from here!

I woke up this morning and wha-la ... Big fat white hairs on the base of my tops! always a nice thing to wake up to! I took some pictures, it might be hard to see but they are some sexy ladys, thats for sure!

Got a new 400 watt HPS bulb put in and the 12/12 timer set up. So this is day 1 of my flowering. I just watered them and checked the PH and it was right around 6.5-7ish. They have really been sucking up the water the past week or so. I will be giving them FoxFarm Tiger bloom and Big Bloom for the next 8 weeks. If anyone has used it please let me know how you liked it. I have never used them together before. I hear good things though. It says on the bottle to have the PH around 5.8-6.2 that seems low to me ? Other than that my temps are right around 72-74 with the light on. around 65 at night. I have been veging them for 6 weeks, they are all showing white hairs at the base of the leaves. Very dark green leaves. The smell is getting strong so next week I will be getting a 4" carbon filter and a inline fan. That should do the trick. Lets pray for the best. So far so good!

Here they are 1 week into flower. Shooting for harvest on the first week of January. I flushed them really good with some fresh water the last 2 waterings. Have been spraying them every other day with Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom. When the soil dries out the will get their first dose of Tiger/Big Bloom at 1/2 strength. Im so happy with this grow so far! Looking promising! If I get 2 OZ per plant dry I will be very happy! I think one plant has 11 bud sites! Crazy! Does anyone know what I can do to really maximize my yields? LST? I have already topped them, trimmed up all the bottom leaves and cut off the small branches on the bottom. I just want to do the best for these ladys! Any advise is welcome!

Hey man your plants are looking awesome. Although from your pics they seems really really green which could be too much nitrogen. I dont believe in telling other people what to do with there plants though! Anyways this herb is a awesome smoke I took mine at 10 weeks. I got about 2 oz's I dont have a scale thats just what it looked like! It's enough for personal usages untill my jock horror finishes! ! hitter quitter stuff!

They are really green, but no signs of burn at all, plus the new growth is really light green. I have followed the books for this grow. Now that I'm this far along i dont wanta mess anything up now! I stopped giving them Nitrogen about a week and a half ago. I flushed them the last 2 waterings with fresh water and no nutes. After the soil dries out Im starting them with big bloom/Tiger Bloom FoxFarm combo sometime this week. Ease them in at half strength to start off with. 10 weeks sounds great! I should harvest the first week of the new year! good way to start 2010 off! and your 2 oz. for your one plant sounds like a good goal to shoot for. That would give me a 1/2 lb. more than enough for me! lol... if its one hit quit... that might last me a lifetime! lol ...I was planing on doing some baking with it, some hash brownies and cold milk sound great! Hey Metal, did you have anything for the smell? its getting kinda strong, really earthy herby smell, I am thinking about hooking up a 4" inline with a carbon filter, but if I can save the $$$ i would rather just mask it the best I can for the next 2 months. What did you use? This weekend I got some incense to help but im not to fond of the hippy smell. haha. I might just sack up and get the carbon.

Yeah I love the smell it's not really a concern to me but. I would just air freshin the shit oughta the room outside your grow area not inside. And then make a DIY carbon filter some how.
