My baby is sick...Please help :(

Hello everyone,

This is my first time growing, and I am going through a tough time. First picture is my younger child (JD Easyryder FM) and the second is the older child (1 day older) of the same strain. I have noticed yellowing leaves on my younger child since yesterday. It is planted in FFOF+perlite+lime soil and has been there for four days since it germinated. I am not seeing the same problem with the older child which is planted in coco+perlite (50/50). They are both in the same controlled environment. I have been watering tap water mixed with distilled water (to set the right pH and PPM to about 200-300) about once in two days so far (a bit less for the younger since it's soild based system). Lights are 4X27W CFLs and a LED strip.

Can anyone tell me what's stressing my younger child? :-(

I really appreciate your comments. Thanks.

Try and get a feel for how much your pot weighs with it fully dry and wet. It's a good way to know when to water. You can also stick a finger in the edge of the pot and if it is still moist underneath the surface then don't water. You want to time it just right. Your roots need oxygen so too much water will drown them. One of the more common ways to kill a mj plant. Especially in the seedling stage. Once she gets 3-4 weeks its not so crucial. good luck.
Thanks for a prompt response. Do I simply let it dry off at this point?

Just moist soil, never wet.
Little plants don't need much water

When I first saw this thread listed, I thought someone was begging for donations for their kid.

Guys, it's been about 4 days since my last post, but I still don't see much improvement on the sick one. The other one is doing very well. Do you guys see any sign of it getting better? The yellowing leaves look pretty much dead to me, although the new set of leaflets look pretty good...

A lot of seedlings burn up in FFOF. It is just too hot for many seedlings. I like it fine for later in the cycle but not this early.

Well it looks like a bit of nute burn. They say FFOF is kind of hot. I started my last seeds in 1/2 FFOF and 1/2 peat and they did fine. New growth being green is a good sign, but stresses at this tender age can be kind of hard to overcome, plant does not have a lot of reserve energy to battle many obstacles.

Just keep it warm, and your lights a couple inches away, and water sparingly. I'd probably shoot for 1/4 cup (60 ml) every other day soaked in right at the base of the plant.

Sometimes you just get funky weird plants that are hard to please, I've had my share, everyone with any experience has. Talk mean to it like "go ahead and die bitch" sometimes that works. Just kidding, I'm a little baked.

Actually I would bet even money she will pull through, gonna be a bit stunted and lag behind the other however.
