Alright i have 16 plants outdoors altogether i have 8 northern lights and 3 Afghan x Mazar and 5 clones and they are about one month old and only about 7" tall with 4 sets of leaves and they are about 30 days old from seed and they were placed outside at 8 days old. Each hole has 2-3 20L bags of soil so my question is i have only one plant in Miracle grow nursery care soil and its about twice as big as all the other plants and i have the others (15 plants) in organic potting soil the brand name is GOLD and i paid 1$ a bag nut at wall mart its 3$ a bag so i was wondering could it be the soil stunting the growth or that i didn't use nutes yet or what could it be ????

I mean also if every other plant is in gold potting soil and has the same feeding/nute regimen then maybe it is the MG soil. or maybe its just a runt.

does your soil have any perlite or anything in it for aeration and drainage??

my guess is that your miracle grow plant is doing better do to the fact it is getting an abundance of nutes.. and being outdoors it can utilize them better because of the amount of light the sun gives to them... although i do agree miracle grow is usually a bad idea... IMHO i would start feeding your other plants some veg nutes.. they prolly are smaller due to the fact they arent getting nutes... start out at about 1/4 to 1/2 strength with the nutes until your plants can get used to them and you see how they react... but you really should start feeding them..

good luck

Buy some organic bone blood and fishmeal and follow the insturctions on the packet is really cheap also can buy some poultury manure pellets. Very cheap easy to use if u can pick up some organic liquid seaweed or kelp would be good to. Whats the weather like where you are if its cloudy and not gettin a lot of sunlight they could be not growing as fast due to the lack of light. Hope ur babies pick up and grow into big monsters.

Don't worry man I use MG soil all the time and it works as good as any soil out there just make sure u add perlite to it for extra draining ability and don't fert for a little at least untill them seed leaves die off then start. If your getting slow growth and the new growth is light in color hit them with some light ferts or take a look at your watering make sure they are getting dry enough and wet enough, hell i still use a moisture meter to make sure.

for veg i would use the 20-5-5.. and maybe throw a dose of the 20-20-20 in every 3rd feeding... also start out light on the nutes and then add more.. just to make sure your girls respond well to it... like i said its easier to add than it is to take away..

there are plenty of problems using MG. just read up

ur better off going to the local nursery and get sum good organic potting soil.

anything is beteer than using MG. those chemicals are nasty. wouldn'd even grow my tomatoes in it.

have u ever seen the MG nutes it's blue powder!!!!!:blsmoke:

I bought the organic blood and bone meal that was mixed together last night its 7-7-0 and i paid 10$ for a box of it so iam satisfied but i couldn't find the fishmeal but i found some liquid organic nutes that was called "bloom" but i didn't buy it because it would most likely be for flowering. So what else should i get with the blood and bone meal? or would this be enough?

You need higher nitrogen nutes for vegging so anything that is high in nitrogen will be good, best to stick with organics. You could actually use your own urine as its high in nitrogen. Just mix the urine with water and use this when watering. I know it sounds disgusting but it works and free. Will only use i would say 1 part of urine to 15 parts of water. Using undiluted urine will burn the roots so if you choose to use this make sure u dilute it well.

Good luck

My clones are also not growing very fast. I've got them in a plastic greenhouse where it gets very hot and they still get sun. I take them out to get full sun when it isn't cloudy. They're about 2" tall. Not sure if I should be feeding them already. Just got 'em 2 weeks ago. Grow medium is potting soil for flowers. Any, all help would be appreciated.
