Took some bagseed and germinated 4 seeds on Mar 22, planted them Mar 26th in PH 5.7 watered Pro Mix. Gave them 18 hours daylight and 6 hours night. They looked great and I anticipated some leaves to show today or tomorrow, but I took a closer look tonight and this is what i see....

What went wrong??

i leave my seeds in a damp bag with a paper towel in the dark for a few days until the root piece is a half inch or longer, then plant.

I did that...the roots were all like 1/2 inch long and beautiful and strong. Now they look all shriveled and wet.

no i planted the white root down and i even sterilized the pots with boiling water before i put the pro-mix in and i sterilized a pair of tweezers and used the tweezers to transplant the seed into the soil and just covered it lightly with soil. like i said...everything looked good for the 1st week, but then they just weren't progressing anymore. do u think the soil was too wet maybe because there is some green fungi in the one pic?? I had cellophane covering the pots to create a humidity dome until the first leaves sprouted, but i never made it to that step unfortunately.

5.7 ph? what the hell kinda water were you giving it? your catch tray looks like you tried to make rock candy in it man! use distilled water next time you try to grow and dont water so much next time either, oh and mg soil is not good for most newbs either. better luck next time man.

thx Joker for the advice. i only watered the pots once which was in the beginning, but i still think it was too wet. should i put the seeds in rockwool cubes to start them out next time and then transplant into the soil??

yeah it does suck. i've been doing some research while this post is going and I'm pretty sure i had ROOT ROT. which means too much water and not enough air for the plants. i kinda thought the soil was a little too wet when i put the seeds in. trial and error.

you added the nutes to early in it's life you are supposed to wait 2-3 weeks after it breaks surface and has a set of leaves.

sorry man, better luck next time.

rockwool works good, but i just use those little cardboard like things you get at walmart for starting seeds, i leave em in there until they come out of the ground an inch or so and then transplant to their final pots, if you want your first grow to be a success, dont use miracle grow, just get some organic stuff that isnt mg and you should be fine

hope r germination went well!! im hopeing my 3 plants will break the soil soon 1 or two more days and ill see hope it goes well again oh i just thought of another thing that spill try did it fill up with water when u watered it / did u leave sitting water there cuz i dont think u want that overflow soaking back into the soil my fix to it is get some small rocks put those inside and put the potting jar on the rocks
