Let's presume the growers get 1gpw that's 15KG.. so 33pounds, let's say a pound is $1600, that's a 52,800$, minus the 27,000$ of electricity, it's still a 25,800$ profit...

considering the flowering room runs 8000 kilowatts, that would make 8kg assuming 1 gpw. 3 kilowatts on A/C + 3 kilowatts on veg room, security cameras, carbon filters and 5 fans. Then nutes for 80 plants and RO production consumes at least 5 times more water than produced. I have recalculated using your figures.. 8kg is 17.6 lbs x $1600 is $28,160. Minus $27,000 electric bill will leave you a whopping $1,160 and you still have to deduct nutrient cost and water rates.. plus you'd want paying for 90 days work? What if you have a fire or get robbed at gunpoint? Is it really worth it for $500???

Also this costing doesn't count for replacement bulbs, ballast, pumps, meters, soil, pots or trays and medium.

hey guys. thanks for all the input! i've been growing for about 4 years now. started off with a 600 watter back in the day. moved my way up to this. i will be running 10k in my flower room. i get roughly 1 gpw. that's about 22 pounds. sometimes i get more. sometimes i get less. i get about 4,000-5,000 a pound for my meds all day. i dunno where 1600 came from (lol?). 22x4500=99000.

lets break this down.
first off my mortgage is 1,000 right off the bat. my electric bill every month is roughly 700-800 dollars. that's with everything on. i'm lucky enough to pay 4 cents a kw if i run my lights at night. i crop out every 2 months(remember my 2000 watt veg room). so that's a 1600 dollar electric bill every crop. i don't pay for water..i have a well. my friend owns a hydro store and i pay wholesale for my nutes. i go through roughly a gallon of micro/grow/bloom a month + additive i pay about that's 100 bucks a month on nutes(you'd be surprised how bad you are getting ripped off by hydro stores). promix each round runs me about 200 bucks.

expenses for 2 month crop out.
mortgage: 2000
electric: 1600
nutes: 250
pro mix: 200
so that's 4 grand roughly..that is really about what i pay per crop(never actually calculated it before just know). so i profit around 95000 a crop, but than you got living expenses(cars, food, clothes, bills, insurance, the list goes on...4 kids). i honestly add about 75,000 to my nest egg every 2 months. i shouldn't really be blurting numbers like this out, but i feel that people deserve to know.

p.s. sorry for my retarded typing style. and don't worry about filling up my thread with chatter. hardly anyone talked to me on icmag. i appreciate the company. it'll make me wanna stay.

Yes I thought $1600 was a bit cheap.. in UK a kilo will cost up to £6000 for medical grade. You're lucky with 4 cent kilowatts. What's your floor area in square feet? Thanks for the breakdown.. very informative.

LOL, I just read back my posts and realised I had calculated the kilowatt rates incorrectly.. 15 kilowatts would cost £1.20 NOT £12 so £1.20 = $1.76 an hour NOT $17.58. Yes, I"m a retard! So not $27,000 dollars but $2,700 for 90 days. Good job I don't work in a bank. Lmao

i veg with mh for 6 weeks. than hps for the last 2 weeks. they love that for some reason.

my flower room is 8k hps in 2 rows of 4. and 2k of mh on a light mover going down the middle of the room. 1k and 1k and they meet halfway.

I've got to say that you have one awesome set-up, Have you got the jupiter 2 rail then? I'm about to indulge as static lighting pisses me off. I run 1000 HPS and 1000 MH in 1 room on easy rollers.. plant shuffling (rotation) hurts my back. Soil for life! please post some more pictures to make me more jealous. lol

how do you like the 70 watt hps?

i'm helping a friend get started with growing, and he has 2x 3'x6' closets. and he can't vent at all. he was thinking leds, but now i'm seeing some killer grows with these 150-250 watt hps. i was thinking maybe 5x 150 watt hps per closet. what do you guys think?

$1600 a lb is dirt cheap no matter where you live or who you know.

It's ok but I still use another 133 watts of cfl's. I'm picking up a 150 tuesday to start building another cab 1 veg 1 flower. How many plants are you thinking for each closet? I'm thinking if he scrog'd them than he could do 2 maybe 3 per closet but full grown might require a little bigger setup IMO. For a first grow and a good scrog fill the screen 70-80% before flowering I think 150 would do pretty well. A guy called watercooled did one Master Kush in a mini fridge with a 150hps pulled 3.5 ounces dry. Hope this helps man any ?'s about the smaller side of growing feel free to ask.

dude. i'm in a medical state. i have 16 patients. my grow is commercially zoned. where i live this is a modest grow. please guys no more of this "omg your going to jail" obviously you've never been to a med state like cali/co/mi. not trying to be a prick, but i come from a state where i coulda went to jail for this shit, and i don't wanna even think about that shit.

as for 1,600 a pound. i can't even get beasters for 1,600 a pound. headies can go for 6k here.
