My 4x4 veg tent is complete

Well, the Rails are complete. Probably not very exciting to most of you because it's just a plain Jane cob set up, but I'm pretty happy with it.

It's running 450w right now, 8 cobs total. 4 each on 185h-c1400. 4000k temps all around, my temps are sitting at 75-78f currently. I decided to paint the Rails with flat black paint, I think it adds a special touch that doesn't make it look as diy.



Ignore the crazy fan setup, I'm just getting a feel for cooling them right now and I actually have a pretty cool idea for the fans that I'll share after I finish.




Got a couple more things to do, like get a sleeve for the wires and get some better looking wire for the hangers, but other than that I'm pretty happy with this build.

Now I'm going to build 3 more for my 4x4 flower tent. Thanks for looking!

I actually went cheap on the chips, picked up Gen 5 citi 1212s, 4000k 80cri from CobKits for 8-9$ a piece. The difference in price was about $150 for Gen 5 over Gen 6, so I figure that I won't make that whole 150 back with the slight efficiency bonus of Gen 6. I might be wrong, but it also kept my bill under $700, so I'm happy.

Went with the B model drivers, honestly because I found them cheaper and with free shipping. Couldn't find A models on with prime. But I've got the possibility to dim now if need be.

For the flower Rails I've got a mix of 2700k and 3000k, 80 and 90 cri, also Gen 6.

Nothing crazy, actually pretty common and simple. Also cheap!

So, what it run ya, around $240?

I calculate your getting around 47,000 lumens, or 2,900 psf

any idea what the PAR is?

Im asking because Im putting a light system together as we speak, and doing research on differant avenue, for Least watts, least price, most Lumens, for a 5x3

hummm, interesting. 12 of these in a 5x3 would be cool.

I'm not sure the par, I don't have a meter yet but it's on the list. This specific tent is veg only, though, so I'm not looking for the the same par readings I'd want in my flower tent.

I'm spending about 140$ per 4 cob rail, so this tent in total was about $280.

Yeah I am, I'll probably start it when I flip.

And yeah, for a 5x3, 12 cobs with this setup should give some great results. My flower tent is gonna have 12 for the 4x4 which is basically the same space. This will be my first run flowering with Cobs so I'm stoked.
