My 400W tent - Nice mixed bag of tastey goodies- 12-12 from seed and more

I have lots going on here. Anyone is welcome to post any comments, pictures, or anything at all. Please share any ideas you have
Fist off - I am JJ and I am new to RIU and I wanted to show off one of my tents.

400 watt HPS running in my grow lab tent.
All soil grows as of right now. I will update soon with more details but I wanted to toss up some cool pics oif what I have started.

Here is my Beautiful lady that is about 2 to 4 weeks from being harvested I hope.
This is called Kannabia Special.

Sprouted around 11/1/11 and vegged for about 20 days before going in 12-12 not 100% on the dates on this one but its looking about 2 more weeks then I need to chop her regardless.

This one below is called Reserva Privada confidential cheese Sprouted 1/15 under 12-12 since seed



this one is called ---- Biddy Early - below- started directly 12-12 from seed as my first one.
Sprouted 1/5/2012 - under 12-12 since seed


CH9 seeds- Afgan Haze below - also 12-12 from seed
Sprouted 1/21 under 12-12 since seed

I'm subbed for the ride!

So a little update on my grow-

I am using Fox Farms Ocean Forest with their trio of nutes** grow big,big bloom and tiger bloom.
I think my biggest issues in the past are using to much nutes and chopping to early.


I just started using air pots as I got 10 to try but they might be a little small. They are 7 liter or just under 2 gallons but most of my grows are 12-12 from seed so I should be OK with that size.
Everything you see here is in air pots except the large Kannabis plant as its in a 3 gallon bucket in soil.
Now with these air pots I find I need to water more so i am just using 1/4 strength and every other watering and I am watering about every other day.
I will update with pics later. its all looking great and my Pre98 kush i think sprouted and my Purple Wrecks as well. Some good stuff to come.

My main goal with this journal and my tent is to have it be a perpetual grow so about every other week I am harvesting something different.
Any opinions or comments please share. I am very new to all of this... but having fun.

This small cup here is a pre98 Bubba Kush that popped yesterday


These small cups are Reserva Purple Wreck just about to pop I will put one back in flower as I want to get some clones later on. The other is staying in 12-12 from here on out.

SO this sativa is amazing and just going to be huge. I can see how its forming a nice Xmas tree form. I think this is going to be a great 12-12 from seeds grow.



Oh i sure hope so as I love a good sativa.
this sativa is called Biddy Early by serious seeds and it won several awards so I am hoping for a decent yeild on this 12-12 grow and being my first time growing this way.

a quick update-
my Sativa Biddy Early has looks like it has Hermied but I am watching it. If I can get a better camera I will get better close up shots. It has lots of small buds all over but little flowers but they look like they are already opened so its hard to tell if its sacs or not as I am pretty new to this. Started as a 12-12 from seed------

My sativa I had to toss.Very sad It hermied big time and I am pretty sure it was heat related as early on I had some heat issues and even now it was at 95 degrees when I pulled the plant and it was directly under the light. So I might get one with a cool tube to fix this issue.

yea not really liking the air-pots. not sure I will do them again. Seems I am watering way to often for the time I wish to spend on my grow.
to be honest I dont PH like I should or as often as I should, my tap water is right at 6.3 so i havent messed with that to much.

yeah i found them to much work and the ripples make them feel bulky.....6.3 thats good mines over 7.....

Ahh snap.... damn lost a whole month of my grow. I will update soon ... wowsers

Well since A whole month was lost I will just post current grow and later on I will add some starting pics as its cool to see the progression of my plants.

Everything here is grown 100% 12-12 from seed. I do this to save money on electricity but the main reason is its so simple to keep a perpetual grow going for my personal needs. I just need one single tent.
I have 4 plants and I should be harvesting about 1 a month and I have room for at least 1 more plant if I wanted.

Here is whats in my tent:

CH9 seeds- Afgan Haze below - also 12-12 from seed

Sprouted 1/21 under 12-12 since seed - so this one is almost 60 days from seed




This one below is called Reserva Privada confidential cheese Sprouted 1/15 under 12-12 since seed
This one is about 65 days from seed.




My Reserva Privada Purple Wreck
12-12 from seed and spouted around 2/11 so that makes it just over 35 days from seed and its just getting huge-

my final and newest one is a pure sativa called Mozambique Poison and its very small for its age and I beleive its just over 2 weeks from seed. I am just hoping it isnt a male but we wil find out soon.

Hey jake, I use a 400w hps, use a soil mix with ffob in it, doing 12/12 from seed with cones for fun, use coffee cans and buckets, and Grow Big, Tiger Bloom and unsulfered molasses. I build a couple boxes, so we are doing about the same way of growing. I'm subbed be like watching a mirror. Started a grow thread myself yesterday. I love your prized plant, looks tasty......rw

yea you use many of the same items as I do. I will post pics of all the ones that were lost here later on. my grow has been going great and my buds are getting huge. I plan on 30 more days on two of them then I hope to start chopping.

So i need some help in finding a better light or some type of cool tube. My tent hits about 95degrees at the top of the plants. All i have is a fan pointed at my light.

That's too high. Does the tent have a peak? Because heat will collect there and you need a vent hole or should have one. Lots of heat will come out by it's self, but your temps are too high, get another fan and put it up there in hole to suck heat out. Leave the other fan and it create circulation of air and cool it off.
But if you have smell issues, you probably need a hood, inline fan, ducting, a vent hole and a filter of some kind. I don't, so don't need all stuff. I live at 5,000ft, so if it too hot, I add another fan to my 400w Hps box and it stays under 80.....I rep you jake but I got to get back to 75 post for it to count...later..rw
Also how far is light above plants, it could be too close.

I have the light about 18" from the plants and I do have an inline fan and filter. I do need to be very careful of smell so I am trying to get all air to be vented through the carbon filter.

You can see my entire airflow system. Its a small tent with a 400w light but my inline fan should be able to handle all of this heat and pump it out.

See there is no peak on the tent. If there was the heat would collect there and your exhaust would move more hot air out. It a convection heat removal. I am in the roofing industry and that is a huge problem venting the heat out of attics. Maybe you could make a peak with that tent by put a ridge pole, push up till you get a peak. It wouldn't be much, but you be surprise by how it moves hot air more effective....rw

I will post some pics of my ladies later on as they are just amazing and have massive buds.
I had some serious heat issues so I upgraded my light and filter and got this running perfectly.

I went and bought the proper 6" filter and a 6" aircooled light. along with my quiet inline fan i have this running at 84 degrees at the top of the plants now and before i was at 95+ near the top of the plants.

so this will really help. you can see what I have installed.
