Well when I was growing in a compact space I would veg for 2-4 weeks, or until it could hold a bud. Then I would flower it.

I prefer to veg for around two months - HOWEVER, if you are doing other things incorrectly, it won't matter HOW long you veg for - you still won't get decent yield. Tell us your equipment (lighting, fans, etc.), nutes, soil, water schedule, and anything else you can think of from your last grow, and then maybe we can pick apart this "low yield" situation, and why it happened.

Ok im using all organic bio bizz, bio bloom organic & bio grow nuts bio bizz all mix soil organic. I got these small lights for veg (see them in the pic) & a 250w cfl for flower. I normally water them once a week or if i see the top layer of soil dry. My grow room does get over 80c when flowering with that 250w cfl light. Heres a pic of my grow room it is small its a cupboard. I had a normal desk top fan in there circling, thats all i can fit in there. I aint got a fan now because my last 1 broke so i still got 2 get 1. I dont need a fan in there yet anyway. I havent got a air extractor in there to suck the warm air out, i cant afford 1 & i aint got any room in my grow room for it. I want to get a few ounces of them & i hope 2 god they are both female, i will cry otherwise lol

Cheers

Hmmm. Well, with the area (space) that you have to grow in, you are probably doing the right thing having lower intensity lighting. Especially noting the fact that you have heat issues in there as it is. It will help to have better air flow, but you really won't be able to expect much in the way of yield until you are able to upgrade your growing space size and lighting. I don't say that as a discouragement, but just being realistic here. I totally understand someone being short on funds. As a side note, when you said 80 degrees "c" above, I'm hoping you meant "f", as 80 deg. c is about - what - around 176 deg. f. I live in Texas, and last summer my temps occasionally got up to around 80 to 83 deg. F with no ill effects whatsoever, but I did have fans and an exhaust drawing out the warm air.
In your case, I don't think it would be a bad idea at all to look into some auto flower strains, as they generally stay fairly short in stature. You really can't allow a regular strain - even an indica - to veg for very long in that cabinet as you will run out of vertical space very quickly. Another idea would be MORE plants, a few more lights, and only vegging for a very short amount of time (two to three weeks unless you are going to grow from clones, in which case you could go straight to 12/12) before switching them to 12/12 ... in other words - a "sea of green" type growing set up. This way, you will get the amount of smoke you are looking for without the need for a taller/larger space. If on the other hand, you want to strive towards the big/high yielding plants, you will *have* to upgrade your equipment. Even if it takes a year of saving, it is well worth it. Also don't forget - you can always buy used equipment, which will save you a bundle. Best of luck with your grows.
