haha yeah I thought the same thing. maybe just a little gay humor? I think gay humor is hilarious(as long as I'm not being touched), so more power to you.

Here's what the girls look like today. I got some good shots, a lot less close ups, they're getting boring. There are several shots of both plants, I'm sure you guys can distinguish between the two, but just in case the first pictures are the LST. I know the topped plant looks a little funky, this is the result of bending to keep her fitting snugly inside the box. Try to ignore both plants fans, they got a little fried early on in flower, right before I switched to Pure Blend Pro.

P.S. Yes that's my toe in the last shot of the LST hahaha.

Sup noob, I can't remember which day off the top of my head, I think today starts week 8 of flower if I remember right; well 56 days then I guess. They're still doing well under the original four 40 watts. Seems to be ample light for a micro grow to me. If I wouldn't have fried them I bet my future yield would have been close to double what its going to be...

Here's another pic update for everyone. I took a family shot of both sisters, as well as several others of each plant. Take a look at that popcorn bud off of the lst, that thing is just going to be a ball of hash come harvest time!

I got something here I'm proud of and ashamed of at the same time here. Me and my girlfriend ran out of pot today, and our dealer wouldn't answer his goddamn phone, well you know where this is going, don't you? I cut a sample bud off of the sativa. I know, what a waste of a bud that could have been bigger, but I can't sleep without my nightly bowl, its why I started smoking to begin with. So I pruned that crystally dime bud off of her, and I got a pic for you. Its kind of airy, which is to be expected from a premature bud, but its got majority amber hairs, and look at those crystals, wow!

Those are such beautiful plants, how on earth did you get so many stems to come off the base like that? pruning somehow?

Well, the one with four main growth shoots was topped twice, once above the third node, and again right after the fourth. To top is to snip off the new growth right above the node, it causes two new shoots to form at the node. The shorter plant was trained sideways (LST or Low Stress Training), and the side shoots became prominent vertical shoots. The shortest prominent cola is really the top of the plant, the two tallest are side shoots. You can find how to do this and more in the growFAQ, a link is located in the top left of this and every page on RIU.

Another pic update coming up. I took a bunch of pics today when I watered the girls. Take a look, the pics pretty much speak for themselves, but my favorite is of that tiny bud on the tip of a growth shoot. That little guy is the lowest branch of the topped plant, funny huh?

Alright, for anyone who went out and wasted a couple hundred dollars on a grow tent or box, check this out. Anyone who is following my thread may have noticed I mentioned I was having a new grow box built for me. My buddy just finished it up this morning, check it out! Two chambers, intake and exhaust holes in both, and flat white finish. Also, he used this really cool locking mechanism, so I can keep out any unwanted intruders, unless they find the key. I kind of had to McGyver(spelling?) everything together just so the plants could move straight in, but I'll clean up the wiring and mount sockets to the ceiling of each chamber when I have the energy. I had to ditch the carbon filter, but I'll make a replacement for that as well. After that its just a few mods here and there and it'll be the perfect box for me. 4 plants can fit in the flower chamber and a bunch of clones could fit in that veg chamber. All its going to cost me is 10.5 grams, what a deal.

I've thought about hanging the lights right next to them, but I don't think I'd get better results. I always try to duplicate nature, and plants outside receive overhead light. They looked really stressed with the lights really low in them before I moved them to the new box. They turned their fans up, and looked much happier in a couple hours when they got the new, much needed space. Plus I figure I get a little bit better light penetration than your average cfl grower because I use 42 watt lights, seems to be decent light coverage. I do acknowledge that I would like more light at the lower bud sites. To fix this with the next set of plants, I'm going to top each plant twice, then prune off all growth shoots except the four prominent ones on each plant. Plus I'm not going to let them get as tall next time, these are both lanky sativa's. I figure then I'll get 4 fat cola's all right up in the light, sweet.

As Thursday night boredom starts to set in, so does another pic update. Just took a few shots this time, 4 of the lst, 2 of the topped. The lst is really starting to fill out, about 65 percent amber hairs now, I'd say. Does anyone still think cfl's can't grow dense buds? That big ole' cola makes me think otherwise... The topped plant is just now getting its first amber hairs, glad to see it, that thing needs to start filling out, its boring me.

On a seperate note, I started to germ a couple seeds I got from a friend, same one as last time. These are the strains her boyfriend has been growing and breeding for a while. This first batch showed promise, I can't wait to see what kind of results I get when I grow organic start to finish.

I just noticed something, and you guys can see it too cause its in the last pic update. There is a star on the tippy top of one of the lst cola's. Check it out, there are five calyxes that make up the five points of a star. Its in the third pic, tell me if I'm going nuts. I might just have to finally name this strain after this...

in trying to duplicate nature...sorry to say you have not thought of all aspects. the sun is never ever always over heard, in fact it is only directly overhead of any given spot on the earth for a short time each day. so putting lights beside your plants infact would make it more natural. just my 2cents

Ill take that into consideration. I really dont think it will be a problem as long as I keep the plants a little shorter next time, and trim off all but the top shoots. Then all I will need to cover is the canopy, because their won't be anything but canopy. I have to work with minimal wattage for reasons I can't discuss, so I don't really have the option of adding more lights for side lighting.

yea. i feel you on trying to re-create nature. it might seem like u get smaller buds when u grow the plant around the buds. but there just more potent. ... from persoanl experience. but your def. got some good looking ladies going tehre mayng.... pe@ce.
