My 1 meter squared tent setup

I've gotten a lot of interest about how I got 1.9 lbs off a 600watt light in my tent for my last grow.. so i figured i would run it again to document it.

Homebox 1 meter squared
454 CFM inline / Carbon filter / 600 watt light on ducting

6 strains:

KC Mango
KC Brazil
Double Gum
Himalayan Gold
Power skunk
Durban Poison

Soil:

I am actually changing the soil for this grow to experiment. The hydro shop was out of ocean forest so I couldn't do my usual 70/30 OF/LW mix. Instead, i used my last bag of OF, a bag of roots organic, and some LW to make a mix of 50/25/25 OF/RO/LW.

Germ approx 25 seeds. I start the plants in 1 gallon pots (2gallon if feminzed), and transplant them to 2 gallon pots once they are sexed. A few days or so before I flower, I transplant 9 of the best females to 5 gallon pots.

Nutes, Veg:

Liquid Karma
Grow Big
Big bloom

I would like to add that I am in no way a professional grower, nor do i have a super awesome green thumb (this is my 3rd grow). I never expect anything but the bare minimum... as long as i smoke for free i'm cool. I like diversity in my garden, and love trying new methods/ideas. It makes things interesting.

Here are some initial pics.
The seeds are germing on paper towells.

I used to clone my plants.. but with a veg, mother, and flower box, my electric bill went through the roof.

This grow and my last will be 100% from seed

Are we talking 1.9 lbs. wet? congrats if that's dry weight. But this just doesn't sound right to be getting 1.93 lbs from 600 watts in soil on 3rd grow. it's not hydro... Is there any CO2? 1.93 lbs is 1.44 grams per watt. That's off the scale if that's dry weight. Sounds like wet weight to me in which case it's still a very nice grow so congrats. But if that's dry weight I need to hear alot more b4 I can believe. No offense.

Dried and straight from the jar. I used a c02 generator in for the last 5 weeks in flowering, but won't be using it again this time.

And yeah 1.9lbs is off the chart. I had more than I knew what to do with.

Hi :eyesmoke:

So you basically start fems or clones in a 2 gallon pot?

Do you have the exact size dimensions of the 2 and 5 gallon pots you use or a link showing where you get them?

I almost have the same setup as you using 9 plants in 5 gallon pots using a 1000 watt hps in flower. Yet you kick my ass by over double in yield. My tent temps are a bit higher than yours, around 82. We use the same nutes but I use the FF 3some of Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz and Cha Ching as supplements. I don't use Karma or Sugar Daddy.

The only big differences I see is that I use 100% Ocean Forrest and much smaller starter pots in veg. My strain is Afghan Kush so it should be close in yield to the MK you had.

I may try to imitate your grow by changing my pot size in veg and doing the 70/30 soil setup. Not major changes at all and it should be easy. I use a 400 mh for the first week in veg then I switch to a 1000 mh for the next few weeks.

Do you top your plants at all? I have to top mine twice to get an even canopy. But I'm using clones compared to your seed.

It has to be in veg where I'm screwing up. I probably need bigger pots. I'm using 5.5" (wide) x 5.5" (deep) round pots and after 3 weeks they definitely get root bound. This is why I asked for a link to the pots you use so I can get a feel for what size they are.

How long do you veg for? It seems you get a nice canopy even starting from seeds.

Alright, let me try to answer all your questions:

I start fem seeds in the 2 gallons to reduce stress by transplanting only once to the 5 gallon

the size of my 2 gallon: 9 inches diameter at the rim, 8.5 inches tall

the size of my 5 gallon: 11.5inches diameter at the rim, 11 inches tall

I veg for around a month. I top and prune the plant all over. On the main stem once or twice, on side branches once or twice if they need it. They end up looking like the attached picture (a lot of tops)

My flowering nutes are:

Monster Bloom
Big Bloom
Tiger Bloom
Sugar Daddy
Liquid Karma

I don't flush. I tried flushing a plant and found no difference between it and a non-flushed. The liquid karma is a very nice addition to your nute soup. It has biological growth catalysts.

looks good too nice and bushy it had good genetics. the plants i got now i had under a mh bulb for vegging. it was never more then 6 in from the tp of the canopy and the temps were always good but it still has 1-2" of seperation in between the nodes.

Thank you very much for your response :bigjoint:

+ rep for you bro.

You used MUCH bigger starting pots than me. Mine are less than half your size. No wonder my plants took so long under the 1000 to bush out. Even then they seemed very stymied. Live and learn :eyesmoke:

I'm going to change to the bigger pot for veg. Get a much bigger root mass for an overall sturdier plant. I'll also check out the liquid karma. Seems like you use it throughout the whole growing period.

I'll be starting new clones in a few days. Can't wait to see if there is a big difference in veg with the bigger pots.

You say you wont be using the co2 anymore. Any reason why? Also, what strain gave you the best yield? Would you recommend it for quality also?

Thanks :blsmoke:
