MUTANT? un-even growth and slightly twisted leaves

Hi community,

Need some help and advise with my latest project.

Barneys CK from seed, 2 weeks after sprouting.

250w HPS (dual spectrum)

temp range between 24c - 31c

RH between 20%-55%

PH adjusted daily to 5.8

Just started using 1/4 strength nutes (growth technology - green haze)

GH waterfarm

IR thermometer reads 27.5c on the leaves

Okay, my question is this. On some of the newer growth (4th node in particular) the leaves are slightly deformed, the smaller blades don't seem to be developing correctly. The leaves also seem to be curling in slightly. I have my own theories and I'm just after some expert opinions, what do you guys think?IMAG0346.jpgIMAG0348.jpg 1432766324045-1593056742.jpg
sorry for the HPS pics, and thanks in advance.

I don't see anything major here
Thanks for your input. I usually grow NFT but due to a move I've had to downsize. Using tap water as it's impossible to get RO water here, was worried about possible salt build up. I'm unfamiliar with the strain and it just looks so different from previous crops. Thanks again

If you are worried about salt build up or your waters poms then break out your tds meter and make adjustments

After sitting in an open bath tub for 48 hrs my EC meter shows 0.6

Thinking of adding a carbon filter and just supplementing the Cal etc. I live in a massively hard water area and I can't be seen dragging barrels of water around.

My first grow from seed, guess I'm just being a tart.

Use distilled water it's only like $1 a gallon
Not 100% it's even the problem but I think just for peace of mind I will make the switch. I've always grown from clones passed on from friends, growth is always a lot more symmetrical with more spacing between nodes. Would you say it looks 'healthy'?

It's Barneys critical kush, I believe it's an indica dominant strain, if not full. Come to think of it, the clones I have been using were of the haze family, more sativa dominant for sure. Maybe why I'm seeing difference in growth style, when really they can't be compared. I'll stop whining and see how it comes along!

yeah I heard if you like that pungent, earthy tone , this is the strain. I also hear it's a hardy plant, which is good because I am the master of over feeding and messing up my temps!

The plan is to LST and SCROG, I've always been very much natural in terms of growth, I just let the plant do its thing. Now with less room, I figured I'd give scrog a go. Once I'm 4 weeks in flower, I will start a journal and be sure to post the link here.

Okay so just got home, opened up the tent and this is what I found ...IMAG0353.jpg what the hell is up with this plant?IMAG0355.jpg some of the older growth was splashed by the solution, not a fan of the way the water farm 'spits ' air and water as opposed to dripping. Next time I will have a deeper bed of clay pellet and raise the plant slightly. I honestly thought it would stretch out more.IMAG0352.jpg this particular leaf was fine last night, I'm only running 1/4 strength nutes if that.IMAG0354.jpgand what the hell is up with my main stem? It gets thin just before the first node, and feels hard and woody.

I'll be searching the forums for enlightenment, if any of you guys can offer your thoughts in the mean time. thinking of just pulling it and starting over...

I pulled the plant, stem rot. Only reason I can think this happened is because the rockwool was being continuously splashed with nute solution. it seems to spit water rather than drip, resulting in a lot of the solution being sprayed. The sides of the tent had residue left over from the precipitated solution. Will do things differently next time around

I am certainly no expert but the plant looks healthy to me. To me this is a case of over analyzing. Give it a chance let it do it's thing....
Good luck

Had a fungal infection, I believe the rockwool was saturated for a lot of the time and this is what caused the fungus,IMAG0357.jpgIMAG0359.jpg onslaught of strange growth and ultimately death.
