I just went to check out my plant and it had a mushroom growing out of it...could this be a sign of anytihng wrong?

no a mushroom is great becuz if your payin attention in biology class that mushroom is a decomposer that breaks down the nute into simple nutes that can be used by the plant i would jus leave it alone

Sorry dude but that is one of the funnyest thing's i've red on this site for ages thanks for cheering me up.you will have probebly bought a cheep soil and the spurs of a fungus could have been lieing dormant till the right chance to grow came along and you was that chance mushrooms are a good buzz though get the right ones.Pull it dude take no notice of the teacher i never did it will lead to root rot.

I had a couple of shrooms pop out the drainage holes on my largest pot, I just yanked them, that was several weeks ago, I have yet to notice any negative side effects from it.

ha thanks for the follow up...i just yanked them as well. I thought it was pretty random that one pot had 2 coming up and the others had nothing.
