MURRAY, Ky. — Police in western Kentucky have charged a county coroner with cultivating marijuana on his property.

Kentucky State Police say 39-year-old Calloway County Coroner Michael Garland was charged Wednesday after eight marijuana plants were found on his property. Police say they also found a small amount of processed marijuana, firearms and drug paraphernalia.

Garland was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He’s been released from jail on bond.
