There's a couple different kinds of ph kits. One is for testing soil, it's cheap at any nursery like $5. It comes with little capsules and it'll get u a good idea of what the ph of the soil is. The other kit, is like $15 from general hydroponics, and i got mine at the local hydro store. It is for checkin the ph of the water/food ur using and it comes with ph up and ph down. For soil growing, u want the ph between 6 and 7 for both the soil, and for the nutes/water.

It looks alright. Still think ur gona want more lights, otherwise, ur plants will keep growing long and lanky with few leaves. They got these clip-on lights and light socket splitters at home depot for cheap. I use 4 lights per plant for vegging, just clip the light with the splitter right on the pot, and they're adjustable so u can move the lights up, down, wherever, till i bust out the hps and they work great

discredit everyone that has posted before me, because if they knew what they were talking about they would have pointed out that you have the wrong color cfls..which is the reason your plants are stretching.
dude you need to get the 6k color daylight cfl bulbs..this is for vegetation. .they give out a white color. when you do get these bulbs...you will see a dramatic difference. get the 4 pack it only cost 12 dollars at menards.

iv noticed a mix of daylight and cool whites work nicely (i use for my veg. stage atm), also, you should have the lights aimed directly @ the plant, in all seriousness tho, u really only cheat urself when you do ghetto grows, its not worth all the time, i found out the hard way :S
