Mr. And Mrs. 400watt Grow :)

Hello Rollitup!
I am new here, but I am a mid level green thumb enthusiast.
Soon I will be starting a 400 Watt HPS, 18 gallon DWC+ScrOG, Dinafem White Widow Auto, grow!
Phew that's a mouthful.
It will be done by my girlfriend and I. We live together and decided to start this back up again. She recently moved in and has never successfully grown anything in her life. But she is interested and I am willing to teach.
I personally am a Soil kind-a-guy, but I want to increase my yields amd get to know hydroponics.
I ordered the seeds today so we should be getting them soon, and as soon as we do, the ever amazing "Mr and Mrs grow" (as she likes to say,) shall commence.

And yes, I have a DIY 18Gallon Deep Water Culture system.
Im gonna grow 6 Autos in there under a scrog. I have an old 20-60 gallon aqurium pump to put in there. I'm sure that will be just marvelous.
Heres what's on my list for the hydro store and Home Depot trip Monday-Everything I need to start:
Items List:
-3" Net Pots (6)
-Expanded Clay Pebbles
-Rockwol Cubes
-Large Air Stone
-Air Pump Tubing
-1/2" PVC ball valve (3)
-Black Vinyl Tubing
-6" to 4" Flange (3)
-4" ducting
-Water PH/TDS/Temp Meter Tester
-Inline duct booster 200CFM
So far I have a 400 watt HPS and MH with a cool tube,
2 100 CFM inline fans, 2 18gl totes, 5 Dinafem white widow seeds, 1 free CH9 Fem Blue Lemon Thai seed,
2 100 watt 5500k cfls, Nutes, Timer, heating pad, and PH control liquids.
And probably a few more things too.
I am almost ready to start this. I have great faith that this will be an amazing grow.
Well set our goal for at least 7-8 Oz's.

Any tips on growing Autos, and using hydro?

Tips growing autos = Don't stress the plant... Use tall pots, they have roots that like to go down a hell of a lot more than out.

Don't use them if you don't have to. If its a time thing, adjust your veg and plant a little sooner so you can flip sooner. Your goal is to fill 2/3 of the screen before they begin to stretch.

But I've already ordered the autos. They come with one feminized CH9 seed. Which is photoperiod. I just need this harvest as soon as possible. So I went auto. But If I were to veg (CH9) her for too short of a time and then flower, it could stress her and cause herm-ification. Any recommendations for strain on my next grow? Photoperiod Strains.

I've decided to revert to soil. So an 18 gallon bucket of soil, 4 plants.
I know it better. Hydro I can save for next time.
