Moving to Cali, but where?

Stay away from southwest riverside county. Hot, dry, not much work.

east side of San Francisco Bay might be better. BART is (was in the 80's) awesome mass transit.

San Diego has some nice areas.

But remember this, ALL of Southern California is a DESERT! Inland areas get HOT. Coastal areas get pretty darn cool.

just my 2 cents

If you are looking for something that is kinda "country" but only about an hour drive to a big city look into Grass Valley....EXTREMELy 420 friendly, lots of space, good weather, and living expenses are lower then Sacramento

Yeah grass valley is a super chill spot up north of sac, it's got nature, lakes, an amazing skatepark, and they hold worldfest there every year. Very green friendly place, only like what 45 minutes from sac I think? hour and a half to the bay area or reno.

if your going to move to california then pick between Orange County and San Diego County. Long Beach is nice too. Just depends on your finances.

I would say a grow friendly community like Chico, (Tons of college Kids) Rent normaly starts at 700$ for a two room apt. I myself live in Oroville. Tons of shitbags if you plan on making friends here. But like chico (Nor cal) Grow friendly. just dont tell anyone about your buissness. Rent in Oroville is around 600-700$ for a two room apt. A four bedroom house towards the hills Is around 900-1200$ a month. (Best advice is you keep in mind what your going to do where ever you move. Paradise is nice also (Thus the name) cheap to live there too because of the snow come winter.

I myself have worked for the California conservation Corps C.C.C. & have been all over cali. Don't move down south Socal.
People get ruder, weed gets more expensive.
also jobs arn't hard to find as long as you look presentable. People say its hard to find jobs here. It isnt. Tons of under the table jobs + communty jobs if you drees & act right. Iv never been without work as a matter of fact I find so many job opps I find myself passing them to my friends.

I mean come not one person mentioned Tahoe???? You can live in Truckee. South tahoe is cheap. You got biking hiking, wakeboarding, snowboarding, casinos, strip clubs, mustang ranch, bunny ranch. Come on, what more could you want?

Peace

I live in the LA area, just about 15 minutes or so from Malibu, and I definitely suggest coming here. I love it, at least. But maybe that's just because I've been here all my life. Do you like quirky people? Move to Venice.. Lol. But that may be overwhelming. Who knows until you come down and check it out. Also, the Monterey/San Fran areas are nice.. Though I've rarely been.

lol only speaking for nor-cal. i live in the bay area.... so here is my input

Santa Cruz- Pro's- Very nice place i love it there and everyone seems pretty laid back every time i go. i dont surf but i always see people out there in the waves. Also if you have ever heard of a set of waves called " The Mavricks " Santa Cruz is about a 20-30 mins drive up highway 1 from them ( 30 foot sets )
Con's- work is hard to find depending on what you do. you can travel to the san jose area for work, but the main highway 17 if there is 1 wreck, rain storm even snow the road is closed down. plus like someone said in the summer it is a mad house.

Oakland- pro's ...... ummm its got a ok football team ( i hate the Raiders) , a shitty baseball team (im an A's fan) and i think they still have basketball ( lol just kidding) Great taco trucks for mexican food 22nd and INT is good eats. easy to get in and out becasue you have 2 freeways 880 and 580 oh and even 980. close to the city if you want to go to SF for the day.
Con's - ummm well........ its oakland! need i say more

Redding / redbluff/ shasta area Pro's- its beautiful up there. good weather in the summer. good fishing if you enjoy that Shasta lake is nice and you can snow ski on mount Shasta in the winter.
Con's- you are 5+ miles away from the bay area and you are pretty much land locked.

if you didnt enjoy surfing and wanted to live in a nice place i would say Sacramento or the out lying area's. you are pretty close to everyting Tahoe for snow skiing and to gamble. there are ALOT of lakes near by for water spots and 2 major rivers for rafting, fishing camping ect. night life in old town or mid town. if you play sports there seems to always be year round leagues for soccer, baseball, basketball. summers have pretty fair weather but can get over 110* some of the bad things about Sacramento you are in the valley so the 3 weeks in a row of over 100* weather can suck at times but you can make due. also if you dont like Traffic.... then, Well most of California has it and its something you have to get used to. Also for the one who surfs. you are about 2-21/2 hours from the beach

this is all i can think of right now. hope it helped somewhat

I'm in the san diego area, but anywhere along the coast in california is pretty nice. It just gets colder and more dreary the further north of LA you go. Bud quality is pretty much just as good everywhere too, as its transported north and south down I-5 and the 101.

Living in San Diego I can state that it is very pot friendly compared to others. Tons of dispensaries both delivery and brick and mortar but we are in need of more delivery services here.

Growing is confined to indoors if done legally, in the city limits of SD you can grow outside but only in a green house. The SD drug task force doesn't mess with smaller grows under 100 plants which is easy to do indoors and will give a great income. The summers can get warm but only for short times, 1 or 2 weeks usually then it will cool down for a few days before repeating the cycle.

I live in east county where it's the hottest and my little window unit keeps my grow nice and cool without running all of the time, nearer the coast if you run your lights at night you can cool with the outside air never needing to run an A/C.

Other parts of the state have other advantages, one decision I would think that is important is job availability and SD has lots of job postings all of the time. Good luck!

Peace out :weed:
