Moving to AZ

I will be moving to Peoria from NY in August and was wondering if anyone can give me any insight/advise on the area. I am hoping to get a medical card since I have been living with chronic pain in my neck from a car accident. How long is the process to get a card? I also would like to grow and wanted to know what the consensus is if you live in a gated community? I understand the 25 mile rule right now for growing. Are you aloud to just plop down on your couch at night and light up regardless of who lives on the other side of the wall? And if you are aloud to smoke up and people smell it, is there a chance they can evict you? Any feedback is seriously appreciated.

Hi Spacey,
Getting your card is as easy as getting med records transferred and you having a qualifying condition

HOA's and lease agreements may present their own probs

Not sure how things are in the urban ....the others should be of more help

Thanks for replying. Sucks that I have to rent for a while until I get a down payment on a house together. I really like the Peoria area and it's close to my place of work. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with growing in an apartment/smoking in an apartment. I don't know how the laws work being that it is technically legal to smoke in your home if you have a card. I just don't know how it works with apartment complexes.

Most newer or less shady complexes don't allow indoor grows. I would smoke inside but wouldn't be having no 420 type parties for the neighbors to see. I would say about half the people in AZ look at and treat weed like crack, especially LEO lol. Funny story is where I grew up, the cops would tell us to smoke weed instead of all the hard shit out there like meth etc. They know damn well themselves the benefits....

Thanks for the feedback. Can anyone suggest an apartment complex in the Peoria area that is good? I am currently looking at Camden Sierra. Seems pretty good but you never know until you move in with a lot of these apartments.

So then I am back into the same boat i'm in now, i would just be able to smoke it legally with a card.
Also, cardholders are permitted to possess 2.5 ounces, and get access to dispensaries, which may prove useful until you can find a patient to get the goods from.

Whats goin on with that 25mile rule, isn't there a big uproar from the medical community that it's "unconstitutional"? Hope it gets abolished, it's a pretty stupid rule.

yep, it's stupid...but, it's what we got.

I'm fortunate to not being affected...yet. Several friends, in Tucson, have lost grow rights ..............and the prices at the dispensaries in Tucson are WAY outa line.
You can locate outside that radius and commute....I drive 75 miles a day....

I don't have that option since my new employer is giving me a company car and I only get the car if i live locally to my place of work so they kinda have me by the balls on this one. Personally I wouldn't want to drive that much just to grow weed but thats just me. However I do hear prices are ridiculous for mid grade bullshit.

What's going to happen to the p2p market when more and more cultivation rights disappear this year? How much longer can an event like the farmer's market by Camp420 continue? Does WeGrow have their farmer's markets anymore? Ugh, this 25 mile shit sickens me... we have to do something.

Im moving into a gated community to I'm not worried. 700$ for a single bedroom apartment better be enough to not let riff raff in.
riff raff knows how to hop the fences of gated communities..I hope you know AZ is a tweakers paradise for some goddamned reason..But I wish you luck in having good neighbors. And if things go well for you , you will me some good potheads that can help you out.:peace:

I see what your saying. Well I am hoping it is only a 1 year thing for renting. I hope to have enough money for a down payment on a house after a year. Then I can stop throwing away money on an apartment and be left in peace for the most part.
