Moving plants

Hey guys, has anybody moved plants at the end of veg into the flowering rooms. I move mine from one building into a totally other building with my truck. My yields are down big time. I'm wondering if this might be the cause? I move them when they are 18 inches tall and filp them immediately. Now I'm trying something different, I still move them at 18 inches tall but I veg them for another week till they get to be 24 inches tall. I have 1-1000 hps for every 2 plants and no Co2 and I'm only getting half a pound per light.

Also I was holding off with more lights cause of the heat, but in the last 2 weeks I had one light for every one and a half plants. If I had all lights on during the entire cycle, maybe it might have made a difference? Thanks.

No digging in hydro. I simply transferred the plant along with the 10 inch mesh baskets which had the plants in 6 inch rockwool cubes and hydroton.

If the roots were not getting the nutrient solution/water at the rate it was then it can cause bad effects. It only takes about 3 minutes for some root to dry out and you could have snapped a few.

damn those yields make me feel a lot better about my grow LOL.
Anyways, light is definitely not your issue. If you have 1kw per two 18" plants, more light isn't going to solve that problem.

Well you're transporting them in netpots, huh? What are the netpots seated in during veg/flower? 5gal buckets? Are roots dangling out of the baskets? If they are, maybe consider protecting them during transport. If you are fucking up your root system right before switching to flower, that could lead to stunted growth which would explain your yields.

Why do you veg and flower in separate buildings? Plant count?

Yes, plant count. But I veg in 5 gal buckets in both rooms. Roots dangle but rarely is there a root ball. I'm going to veg for a week from now on after the tranport.

i would concentrate on root growth using beneficial bacteria like pondzyme or great white, because a plant that size in hydro should have a big root system going.

If you're not already doing this, keep them in 5 gallon buckets while you transport them.

Secondly. superstoners got a point. If your plants are 18" tall there should be a big ol root system on there. Are you running a DWC or RDWC operation without a waterchiller? You really need a chiller to run RDWC successfully. If you don't, then get on those enzymes/bleach/h202 or consider a different hydro style.

I use grozyme and rapid start from GH. I got water chillers. I recirculate the water. I will use 5 gallon buckets to transport. I was using 3 gallons for lower center of gravity. Thanks guys

If you want to increase your root mass and yield why don't you try flowering them in 27 gallon tough boxes? With 1.5 plants per light you would get a lot more yield per plant. I use one tough box per plant and daisy chain them together and run them to another tough box reservoir outside the room. Easy to pull down 1 - 1.5 lbs per plant. I am vegging in a different room under T5 and CFLs in 5 gallon buckets with netpot lids. When I harvest a room, I clean it up then immediately move the vegged plants from the 5 gallon bucket system Im vegging in, into the flowering room. I simply lift the plants out one by one, and walk them to the flowering room and carefully set the netpot lids into the totes. Very simple system, easy to maintain. Chiller is definitely a must have with this method because you have a lot of solution.

There is a 15 plant limit in my state, so this works perfect for me. I have two flowering rooms going at all times. One has three lights and the other has four lights. The strain I am growing has a 52 day flowering period, thus I crop every 26 days, about once every 3 1/2 - 4 weeks. I do not keep a mother plant. Occasionally when I take cuttings, I am over the 15 limit by a couple plants, but they don't count cuttings as plants in my state. You could do your cuttings in one building, and your veg and flowering in another AND have two rooms flowering at all times AND not go over your limit.

What is your plant limit?
