Moving from Rubermaid tubs to a gutted dresser

The first picture is my previous set up (until this morning!), and the rest are what I have at current..

Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I can use to seal in the light, as well as what I could use to cut holes for the exhaust, etc?

Also, if there are any other suggestions (not related to hole cutting, light sealing) I would love to hear them!

It's totally invisble, lol. just messing with you.

What does the inside look like? Gotta make sure you have decent ariflow and an exchange of some kind. Can you get a picture of how the drawers come off? Or how you get into the setup?

If the drawers of the dresser were hinged or some how stuck together you could seal the inside.

Are you going for stealth?

I'm not going for stealth, just need something that makes the plants happy.
Mylar: could I get a couple of those emergency blankets? I have white shower curtain lining the inside (I didn't like the idea of foil). The (front of the) top drawer is screwed onto the dresser, the (Front of the) middle two have been hinged like a door, and the plants are sitting in the bottom drawer.
I meant to add this photo when I started this thread, but I don't know what happened to it.

The Blankets will work I think. I have never used them before but if you have some laying around why not. If you don't have a PC fan or something for air flow I would recommend adding something. Plants look fine and healthy. A little bare at the bottom but I don't know what kind of light you are using.

They're bare at the bottom because I was retarded and went nuts with the trimming.
My lights.. they're uh... I've one really big CFL (red) and one smaller one (blue). I've the bulb information at the house, and I'm at work currently. I can get back to you with that information after 11 (EST) pm, if you think it's pertinent?
I don't have any emergency blankets, I had just read that they were made from mylar, and were cheap.
I don't have it yet, but I'm going to but PVC elbows in the dresser, and put a fan above them (essentially to push air around without taking up space inside of the dresser.

Although I put a lot of time and effort into the tubs, they were pretty shabby, and over-all, I think this set up will work a lot better. Thank you for all of your help. :)

I guarantee that you will rebuild your setup more than once. I finally am at the point where I am doing little tweaks instead solving massive problems or trying out different things. My first setup sucked. Second, sucked less, third a little less. Now I am somewhere between shitty and okay, lol.

Ha! I didn't expect to be very good at this whole thing, and went into it with two plus year old bag seed, a desk lamp and zero dollars. My first box was made from cardboard and duct tape, the inside lined with white printer paper. About a month and a half ago my boss gave me an entire hydro set up (I'm no where near comfortable with using that yet) and I know it won't fit in this dresser when the time comes, but building something like this feels good!

My lights: i've one sunlite brand CFL at 85w, 3000k, and one Great Value 9w, 5000k.
I bought a fan last night but couldn't find any PVC elbows, do you think I could just cut a 1.5-2 inch hole near the bottom in the backs of the dresser to vent, or should I just hunt harder for the PVC?
I've just two plants, and I think I'm getting pretty close to my first harvest; I'm still not 100% sure what to do there, but I guess that's a different question for a different thread.

Thanks for your help, no work today so I will get this dresser done and show you what I've made!

It's gettin' there, man. I Think the fan in the bottom like that is plenty. It is a good idea to have another one toward the top pulling air out, though.

What is CO2 boost?

To cut the holes get a drill and a holesaw. they hook to drills and you judt pull the trigger and push. They come in different sizes.

Monkey, thank you for that! That sounds perfect, and I will be getting one this evening, assuming they can be found at Wal-mart.

Co2 Boost is just a bucket filled with things that give off Co2, it comes with a pump and some aquarium tubing. I poked little holes along the length of the tubing, and it hits the leafs all the way around. It lasts about 90 days if you have it with your 12/12 light cycle, and you can use the contents of the bucket as fertilizer afterward, too. My boss gave me the bucket and great reviews for it, so I decided to give it a try.
