Mother plants

Should I get them from seeds, or from a clone? I don't like the idea of taking a clone from someone elses mother. Which is better? Also ,any tips on weathering and making my mother stronger would be appreciated. Is there any specific way I should cut her? Should I not give her nutrients? How much light? Any suggestions?

Also, if I keep taking clones from clones, is the quality of the weed going to suffer eventually?

I have limited first hand knowledge but have done some research on this (my first grow is running as we speak). You can get a mother from clones or seeds; the genetics of the plant will be the exact same with either. Mothers from seeds will have to be assured that they are in fact female's however. If you are going to obtain a mother from seed I'd choose your best, healthiest looking female and separate it when you start flowering other plants. Lighting should be your normal vegging lighting schedule and I believe that nutrients should be similar to vegging as well (tho there are lots of *mother plant* nutrients available). I don't think there's any definitive evidence pointing to reduced quality of weed from clone to clone. People probably have a wealth of anecdotal evidence on this.
