More bad news for edibles...

I am actually ok with all of this. Keep it clean Colorado.
What is wrong with taking a verified dose, via testing, in a pill form. With coconut oil or such. What is the purpose? Especially on the med side.

No problem here, I thought these standards were already in place for the legal market in CO. Some of the citations might be trivial, but if they are applying food handling standards that all other industries must follow, then stoners should be able to figure out it out too...

I'm all for food safety standards. You'll see the number of violations either taper off as the companies get more informed about actual food safety standards or you'll see those companies that can't figure it out go outta business.

Personally I wouldn't want my cannabis infused products sitting at room temperature. I had some coconut oil that I made a few years back and it sat in room temperature for a few months going from a solid to a liquid as the temperatures fluctuated. Opened it up to make some edibles and found that it had mold on the actual solidified coconut oil. So how much of it had mold in it if it had mold on the top of it and it goes from a liquid to a solid? Shit probably all of it.

I'm sure most companies don't have product sitting around for months but refrigeration of product is such a simple addition that there is little to no excuse not too.

Not sure where you saw something mentioned about pill formed edibles homebrew? Or are you just bringing that up as a similar but separate question?

I personally wouldn't mind standardized pills with reliable accurate doses. It would solve the shelf life of most baked goods edibles. I know when I make a batch of edibles I like to do so when I know I have some interested parties. Otherwise I end up eating the rest and my week becomes a blur lol. My friend has 17g of reclaimed shatter that he is gonna dilute until the MG he wants per pill then encapsulate them. The other thing I wanted to mess with is making dry granola bars then infuse chocolate with coconut oil so that it'll stay solid at room temp then pour the same amount of cannabis chocolate over each granola bar. After that I wanna vacuum seal each one then toss in the fridge or freezer. I feel like for me it'll be a large large batch, several hundred edibles, that would in concept last a long long time as long as I don't add a bunch of wet stuff to the granola bars.

I for one feel more comfortable knowing edibles are manufactured in a clean kitchen using sanitary techniques.

Been out to 14er several times and never saw any pills available. Is this something you have to ask for or is it just not available all the time?

Glad to see them enforcing standards that I had assumed would already be in place. Haven't bought any edibles in a long time after reading about varying doses and other problems. Also, dont like how almost all of the edibles that I see are in chocolate or cookies or other sweets.
