Hi, hopefully someone can help or give me a few tips please to tame this monster i have. I have a plant on the go and it is getting waaaay too tall here is a link to another topic with all the specs etc.
https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/313400-water-temp.html

Ok here it is then, i am at day 24 of 12/12 the plant is now approx 41 inches tall, and outgrowing my cabinet, my questions are can anyone tell me how much longer this will carry on growing vertically for? it has doubled approx since starting 12/12 its jack herer or jack flash btw.
Also what will happen if i top the main bud?? will it be too much shock considering i'm flowering, im struggling as to what to do atm with this plant as i am not an experienced grower and cant find info on how much this strain grows extra in flowering phase. I attatched a picture and prey someone can come along and advise me please, Thanks a lot, pil.S1051502.jpg

Emergency LST is in order, i'm not sure if you're supposed to do this while flowering but it looks like you have no choice and i see no reason for it to not work....SO :

tie a piece of string (use a loop so it dont bite into the stem) and slowly but surely over a few days bend the top of the plant so its top eventually faces downward (you need to tie the other piece of string to the pot or a peg in the soil .

LST stands for low stress training hence why i say bend the top of the plant little by little , maintain ur current light cycle and hope for the best :bigjoint

Hi sensi stan, yes i had started to bend it a little but like you wasnt sure about doing it when flowering, i think i have about 4 weeks left on this as it says 8-10 weeks flowering time. I have read a lot of post on jack herer/jack flash and other strains but can not seem to find info on how much vertical growth will come in flowering and what stages the growth starts and stops at in the flowering period. Would anyone else with any experience of this strain especially like to chime in and tell me or link me to any other relevant info on extra growth in the flowering period, Thanks pil.

Your plant is "stretching" and it should stop around the 3rd or 4th week.

CLOSETGROWTH, thankyou very much! i flipped to 12/12 on 22nd april so hopefully it should slow down within the next week or 2 yes. By stretching do you mean it isnt getting enough light or do you just mean stretching as in growth it normally does in the flowering stage, i have 250W CFL and a 4 foot 75W T5, Thankyou very much

It's the stage of growth it's at, known as the streeetch. A number of things contribute to this and it can be kept to a minimum if prepared.

As your plant has already stretched then lst is your only option. Don't worry too much about it being in flower, it will be less stress than say if your plant grew into the lights and got burnt. Just use your best judgment and tie down/bend as much as the plant will give you without breaking.
