Joe you need air moving UP through the canopy, not across. Download the equipment chapter of Weed Science and look under Air Floor And Ventilation.

i figured that there is air circulation beacuse its on the first floor an the basement is underneath which stays cool an is a little drafty in the closet but i could put a smal fan in there will that stop the molding from going anyfurther?

The air must be vented from the closet - the plant will keep evaporating moisture from it's leaves until you have 100% humidity in the closet. Then keep evaporating, it's what happens to the water we feed the plants.

Air should be drawn from a high area of the closet and a passive inlet from the bottom - to vent the heat from the light while venting humidity.

The plants should be raised on a perforated floor, that is above the air inlet, so fresh CO2 rich low humidity air is drawn from your living area and up through the underside of the leaves - feeding the plant fresh CO2 and your living area O2 rich air. Symbiotic.

I'm not a big fan of regular spraying - the evaporation of water through the leaves draws water and nutrients through the roots promoting faster growth - one of the benefits of an air floor. Forget the water bowl: soak your buckets until water runs out the bottom drainage holes; be sure the bucket isn't sitting in water (root rot); let the bucket dry until it is light to lift (experience - water weighs about 9 lbs per gallon); soak the bucket again. A plant in a 5 gallon bucket of dry Pro Mix takes 2 gallons of water once a week with my set up.

I use half strength nutrients every water. I rarely spray the leaves, just to clean dust off the leaves every now and again, but ventilation does a good job at that. Leave foiler spraying nutrients until you have a few grows under your belt, it's something I never bother with.
