Mold & Maggots!

It seems the mildew I found the other day wasn't enough. Upon checking on my rockwool cuttings, I noticed that they were literally covered in little tiny maggots!

So, first question - what are they and how do I prevent this from happening again?!

I threw all the cuttings away and cleaned the box with bleach, but I don't think that's enough..

Now, as for my bubble cloner.. it has its own problem. I cleaned it yesterday with bleach and soap and today, it looks like I left it out in the snow. I dipped one end of it in water and the white stuff disappeared..

What is this and how do I get rid of it or prevent it?

And now for the worst part!

Upon further inspection of all my plants, I noticed some sort of pattern on some of their leaves. It doesn't seem to be spreading but I need to know if this is mildew ASAP!

Is it? If so, what do I do?

EDIT: I found the same thrips maggots on one of my large flowering plants. For some reason, they haven't spread to the plants around it, but I'm in DIRE need of a method of getting rid of them.

I read that there are some pesticides and predatory insects you can unleash on them. Anyone have any knowledge on that end?

I can't lose my plants.. my whole operation is currently in danger!

SPINOSAD product for those plants you can spray.

Root drench flowering plants with SPINOSAD.

Maybe a hot shots no pest strip if you've got longer than 2 weeks flowering left.

Your clones - have thrips larvae

Your blotchy leaves have thrips damage.

Your issue is THRIPS plain and simple.

SPINOSAD products are organic.

HOT SHOTS NO PEST STRIPS are carcinogenic but the active ingredient DICHLORVOS breaks down with oxygen fairly quickly.

Thanks.

What about Neem Oil.. is it better than Spinosad? All I can find in terms of Spinosad are for head lice..

Don't live in the US, unfortunately.

Neither do I. I live in the UK.

I still get mine from AMAZON with shipping or eBay.

Uk doesn't use SPINOSAD other than mainly for Ant bait stations.

Neem will EVENTUALLY work for thrips but you need something to knock down quickly based on your clones for example you have a serious infestation.

It was too late for the cuttings. The infestation was too severe. I had to toss them out.

As for the rest, especially my flowering plants.. I can't wait for the delivery from Amazon.

Anything else I can use besides Spinosad?

Can't wait for Amazon shipping? No.. nothing else is going to knock them out like spinosad.. Shooot might be time to use your free prime trial son lol

I've dealt with thrips once.

My plan of action was get a hot shot no pest strip and spinosad.

I think there is a PROVADO product that contains thiacloprid that should work.

But I'm unsure of the thiacloprid so some research should be done.

Other than that a perethryn spray should work too.

Neem repel can be bought at most hydro stores that will work but its systemic so you have to wait for it to do its thing.

The big question is HOW DID YOU GET THEM?

Donor clones?
Open windows?
Unscreened intakes?
On you from outside? I always get dressed into different clothing before entering my grow room.

If I've been outside I wait at least 2 hours before going into my room then get changed and enter.

Amazon Prime is not going to help me when it takes 2 weeks for anything to arrive from the US.

Can you get ladybugs?
Maybe. Is it better than Neem Oil?

One of the reasons I wish I still lived in the US. Though, if I did, I'd be forced to sell for much lower prices, I think.. so it's still worth it.

How long until the neem oil takes effect? I was told to spray every 3 days for 2 weeks.. is that enough?

What about the lady bugs or other bugs? It seems like a cool idea to watch them devour the thrips..

Donor clones, no.
Open windows, no.
Unscreened intake.. maybe. All my intake comes from an air conditioner and it's not filtered.
I don't wear different clothes after coming back from outside, so that's also possible.

I could filter my intake, though I have no idea how..

But the bigger problem is to try and fix this, because even if I wear a hazmat suit it's still possible I'll infect the plants anyway.

So, we still need a cure, not just a preventative measure.

I think so. And they will stay until there is nothing left to eat. I will turn them loose on plants with nothing wrong at about 4 weeks and the again about half way through flower. And they stay so the are eating something. And I hav
