Molasses, Yellow Fan Leaves, and Pruning

Thanks, this is what my next oldest looks like. It was a first experiment at making a short plant using pinch training and FIM'ing. I also made sure the plant never needed to stretch by making sure it was alway surrounded by a few CFL's that provided a total of 7,000 lumen. It REALLY helped keep the plant nice and bushy and the pinch training made every branch as strong as iron.

Look at the three top colas. Ironically I fucked up when I FIM'd so I only got three instead of four top colas.

Regardless this one is a champ at growing and I think will provide a really nice crop even for as short as it is. It's got lots of branches and they are all strong and growing well.

Been following this thread with special interest. Have a 3 plant patio grow out in Vancouver, BC area. Started it in May22 and moved outside a month later. Plants are in 5 gallon containers with Promix and extra perilite in the containers. I've been using a generic fertilizer for both veg and bloom, Plant prod 20-20-20veg and Plant Prod 15-30-15 for flower. I've also been adding a tablespoon of blackstrap mollases every watering.
Here's my problem, plants started showing pre-flowers in early August, 2 weeks later I made the switch from veg to bloom ferts at about a quarter strength. Seemed like just a couple of days when the fan leaves started to go yellow. Figured this was natural during the flowering cycle. Like someone earlier in the thread mentioned, I noticed new buds coming from where yellow fan leaves had been removed. Next watering was just plain water and mollases and still had leaves turning yellow at an alarming rate. Flowering like hell but looking more and more like a charlie brown xmas tree.
Last week I flushed my plants with copious amounts of water and have reduced the nute strength to a quarter and the mollases to a teaspoon but still have lots of yellow or light green leaves, no leaves are really dark except those in the colas. I'll try and post pics in a few hours but any thoughts on this?

Those numbers are pretty high. Not much room for error.

Kludge I think your plant is just trying to tell you she is almost done.

I FIMed a plant and also got 3 main tops. Maybe the people that get 4 are the fluke.

Yeah, I just realized this morning as I was going over my grow log that I had in fact used some left over bloom fertilizer. It was only about 1/4 strength but I guess that was enough. It makes sense then that the buds exploded over night, duh.

I have GOT to stop smoking pot while working on my plants... but then I'd never do anything. At least I do write down what I do as I'm doing it so when I fuck up like this I can figure it out.

So, it wasn't molasses, it was a bloom fert I misused.

I can understand ya. Taking steroids and morphine right now for a neck injury, spent half an hour ripping around the house looking for my pruners, they were in my pocket. Last year without the injury I did fine, this year my plants look like hell. Doctors bump my steroid medication up and I think you could literally see it affect my plants in following days. Oh well, there's always next year.

Did u ph up your molasses mix? Molasses will lower your ph quite a bit. That might be a cause of your yellowing when using molasses...just a thought.
