I'm very fortunate to have friends like I do :)
Makes all the difference Jozy! Garden`s looking great Mo, got a lot on your plate, my kind of guy ;). Got some strawberries for myself (from seed and nursery) and my sugar baby watermelons are lovin`life. Can`t wait to see some growth on that beauty Plumeria. Keep it green (or colourful in this case),

Days are hot and nights are cold. The poor garden is getting fried during the day and frozen at night. The tomato in the smart pot is not doing very well. The 90 degree day dried the pot out. I need to keep on top of that. I may need to add more N to the water also.

Went out last night and caught more earwigs on the Sangria tree. I need to smear the sticky goop I got at the farm store on the trunk so they get stuck climbing up.

Drew up some plans for my greenhouse. 38 feet by 22 feet with a 10 foot ceiling slanting up to a 12 foot ceiling. Starting on the foundation today. The first version will be a deck with a 2x4 frame to hold 1/4" wire mesh. In the fall I will figure out whether to put up clear plastic tarps or something more exotic.

Cheers,
Mo

Worked on the veg cabinet some more. Added some reflective foam on the doors:

Started setting up to put seeds in the Rapid Rooters:

Put this on hold until I hear back from Subcool about water pH and additives.

Cheers,

pH doesn't really matter when starting up in cubes. But if you'd feel better doing so, and your water ph tends to travel up, 5.7 is where I'd set it at. If it travels down, 5.9 is where you should set it. As long as you are as close to 5.8/5.9 as much as possible, you'll be fine as long as you don't have any dirt in your pots.

Better guard those ten with your life!

Pretty bad when you need to sleep in your garden to protect your blueberry plants!

Well today was exciting for me and the cats. They spend most of their time in the back room by the pool staring at the outside that they only get to visit for a half hour each day. This morning they were freaking out because there was a duck in the pool! The cats know that the pool is full of water and they steer clear of it because they hate water. So they could not understand how something could just float around in the pool. And then the duck flew away. They lost it! It floats in the pool and it flies!

Next thing that happened was one of the baby birds in a nest decided to try and fly today. He still has a baby mouth and I thought for sure he was going to get eaten by something out there. I had to keep the cats inside when I did my garden rounds. They were not pleased at all!

During my rounds he just stayed perched on top of the old avocado stump. While I was watering I found a giant caterpillar in the strawberries again :( The mockingbirds birds are eating the strawberries when they start to ripen. I think they are the ones swiping my blueberries too.

The baby bird disappeared for a while and I was sure a crow got it or a cat or... Anyway, I went out later when I heard a mockingbird making a big fuss and I looked around in the area where the mockingbird was and there was nothing I could find. I walked back to the pool and looked around and there was the baby bird just standing on the compost pile. I went over to see if it needed help and it flew away perfectly! Whew :)

Garden is grow fast and the greenhouse is still in the layout and planning phase. I am not looking forward to carrying all of that lumber into the back yard. I need to find some young football players that need some weed :)

Anyway - that's all I've got - oh - I made some garbanzo beans today. Soaked them last night and cooked them up today. Mmmmmmm. I wish I hadn't thrown out the soak water. It would have probably been good to add to the worms and compost or even directly to the plants!

Cheers,
Mo
