Modified my room, want advice. 1800 watt flower 600 watt veg

Hey fellas, i've done a couple grows using 2 4x4 tents and a 600 watt light in each. I'd veg them in one tent then split em up between the 2 to flower but it left me with no veg area and doubled my production time. Now I have 2 additional 600 watt lights and replaced one tent with a 10x9 mylar flowering room. Would this size be good for 3 600 watts and keep the 4x4 using 1 600 watter for veg? I'm thinking the veg area might be too small now as well, so i might get rid of the tent and make it about 4x6 intead? I'm only working with 1 room, it's divided with mylar.

Also, what growing style would you use for this size? How many plants? I'm thinking 15/20 (i'm using 5 gallon smart pots and soil but am switching to coco coir) but right now i'm about ready to flower 12, a little low for 1800 watts i think.

Just looking for feedback, cheers and happy thanksgiving!!!!

4x4 is plenty room to veg! You could have two mothers AND still be vegging 40 plants in that space. A 4x13 room (52 sq feet) is plenty enough for 20-28 plants under two 1000w lamps. Your 10x9 room is nearly double that, but only has fewer watts than my mentioned setup. If you keep all of the plants tightly spaced underneath your lights I would say you can squeeze around 20 plants, each with 2.5-3 square feet of space to grow. The mentioned 4x13 room has 20 monsters with bamboo sticks and string that fit just fine. All girls in that setup(plus the few sickly plants who died and males later removed for a total of 40) were vegged in a 2x4 tent under T5 for about 1.5 months. Setup is hydro, by the way, but the numbers work the same.

The 2x4 tent has a 6" fan/filter, and the 4x13 room is cooled by one 8" fan exhausting/cooling hoods, and one 6" fan intake. What will you use to cool your 10x9 room?

Just a quick reinforcement...I have a GL240 tent 8x8 and it was designed for 4 600w lights given proper ventilation, so you should be good there since you are not using all 4 and can have back up.

As far as the veg room, if you can expand it will give you a bit more room to move around...if you need that. With proper ventilation, since you already have the 600 watter for veg, yeah an MH CMH will work or if you have a ballast that'll do 400w that's fine. T-5's do a good job and draw less current. Since the 600w bulbs will give you about a 4x4 area with about 6' penetration you should be fine for 12 plants. I'll let some others address your other questions :)
Good luck and have fun!!

Alright let us list what you're working with...
(2) 4'x4' tents.
(4) 600W HPS/MH?
(1) 10'x9' mylar flowering room
(1) Room divided

So you are using 5 gallon pots, switching to coco, plant numbers you're thinking about are 15 - 20.

Man, I wish you would of posted this before buying more lights, but let us see what you're working with, first thing I would ask is how big is your room? What are the dimensions? You have 4/600W, I don't think you should be vegging with those at all, I think they should all be used for flowering. I would build 3 tents, 4'x4' each, throw a 600W in each tent, and then veg outside the tents with the remaining 600W. However I really think you should use some flip-flop relays to save energy, and personally veg with fluorescents and not the 600W. I would try to use all 600W for flowering.

Thanks guys. Right now i'm in a bit of a problem, running at around 85/92 degrees in my flowering area, that's with cool tubes and an air conditioner (which kinda sucks). I'm using a homebrew co2 system but am getting a co2 tank/regulator very soon, might be late but better than never i guess, i noticed some heat stress on a few ak 48s :(

My flowering area is almost full right now too, 7 trees and 7 clones from the trees when they were topped, seeing that they have about a month or so left at least, i'm gonna end up with more trees haha. Might keep this cycle if it works well, maybe add more plants and keep them smaller. I'll let yas know and post some pics come harvest time when it's interesting. :D
